It was a bittersweet day at Camp Taiwan today. The weather was great and the kids had lots of fun in their free choice activities and during the wide game, but Camp Taiwan is saying goodbye to some interns this week who must return to school. Closing campfires were awesome this week and there will be quite a few campers tomorrow who may want to stay another night or two here in Wanli.
The day got off to a great start as not a cloud in the sky came to greet us in the morning. Kids woke up happy and then headed to breakfast. After breakfast, campers got started on their signup free choice activities. Zip Line, climbing, arts and crafts and more kept the kids busy for three hours before lunch.
After lunch, campers chose an afternoon free choice from these activities; soccer, baking, dance, games, shrimping and more. The wide game today fit the Hawaii theme as campers had to work together to plug volcanoes and ‘Take Back Hawaii.’
The closing campfire saw some great performances including the Yellow girls team singing the Celine Dion hit ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and the Orange boys singing the Queen classic ‘We Will Rock You.’ There will be some quiet tents tonight as kids recover from another long day of fun!
Goodnight from Camp Taiwan and see you tomorrow.
