Dear Parents,
You may have heard of several incidents in the Olney area in recent days, including the incident about three doors down from the school where the 81 year old gentleman was found deceased, an uninvited person visiting the school and the recent shooting in the Olney area.
The staff at Belmont Elementary is aware of your concerns and we want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our students. Due to these recent events, we are taking a few more safety and security precautions at Belmont. We have tightened up the security of the back door and put all staff on alert for anything that they feel is out of the ordinary. The staff has met with Alyson Baber, our school security representative for the Sherwood cluster, to discuss our increased security measures.
