Urgent Update about School Closure

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON TUESDAY 25TH OCTOBER
SCHOOL IS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY 7TH NOVEMBER

Update

We have just received an Official Letter from the Director of the Office of the Private Education Commission in Thailand (OPEC) informing us that the school must comply with an announcement from the Ministry of Education which states that all schools in the 12 affected provinces including Bangkok are to be closed until Monday 7th November 2011.

Shrewsbury International School is therefore closed from 16h00 on Tuesday 25th October until 07h40 on Monday 7th November.

If there is any change to this official announcement we will inform all parents immediately using our usual communication channels.

Next Steps
a) The School now moves quickly and effectively into Studywiz Mode. Students will require access to the internet throughout the school day.

b)All teachers will be preparing, setting and assessing work in accordance with their full timetable commitments.

c)As of 12h50 on Wednesday 26th October, the school will run an academic programme aligned as far as possible with the normal school timetable.

d)Mr Mower (Assistant Principal Academic) will be writing via Studywiz to all Parents and Students with Guidance for Studywiz Mode. We learned much from our experiences in May 2010 and I am confident that our programme of online learning will be effective and rewarding with your support.

e)If you require advice / guidance on Studywiz (including login and password enquiries) please e-mail [email protected]

In Conclusion

The school will keep in regular contact with all members of the Shrewsbury community during this period of enforced closure.

The next Web / Studywiz Briefing with further information will be uploaded at 14h00 on Wednesday 26th October.

Thank you, as ever, for your support during this very difficult time.
