Wolvina (M) (250 word story)

'It's not fair. Nothing is fair. Is the royal blood more important then your own pup? I'm Wolvina, soon to be the leader of the Moon Claw pack. I don't want to be the leader so I have escaped from my home and family to hide from royalty.'

Wolvina has run away from home a month now, waiting to see what her mother would do. She pounced from her hiding place and landed badly on top of Storm, a wolf who had found her body, shivering, a month ago. He wasn't an adult wolf yet and had fled from the Lightning Streak pack for the same reason.

Wolvina's mother and the Moon Claw pack had become allies with the Lightning Streak pack in search of their prince and princess. The news spread quickly all throughout the woods and soon reached the ears of Wolvina and Storm. "We must leave! Our families will find us so we must seek a new, safe, home!" Storm declared in a velvety growl. Wolvina howled, agreeing and the two young wolves set off in the moonlight.

'I, Storm, must take good care of this pup in order to keep her alive as we cross the battle fields of the Shadow pack and the Lightning Streak and Moon Claw packs. Shadow is a powerful leader. All wolves fear him, but now, he has challenged our families to death! Wolvina and I live in despair and now, she is my only relative, I must protect her, forever!'
