The Loch Ness Adventure (Scribbler)(M)

2012年10月30日
"I can't look!" shrieked Dylan and he shut his eyes tight. Luke's mind was whirling and he couldn't think what to do. So, he shut his eyes like Dylan and hid behind his rucksack. The boat shook. His rucksack wobbled and fell on Luke's head. Slowly, Luke opened his eyes and saw two beady red eyes glaring down at them.

Dylan was flicking frantically in a book about the Loch Ness monster, desperately trying to dodge the fishy breath of the it. Luke switched on his emergency torch and suddenly felt thankful that his mother made him bring his emergency rucksack. He shone the torch at the monster, not knowing what to expect. Emerald green scales glittered and the Loch Ness monster opened it's jaw, showing off his sharp yellow teeth. It's long thick neck curled around the boat and threw the boat back on land. The Loch Ness monster threw back it's head and gave a terrifying roar.

Dylan trembled and tried to recite the speech he learned from the book calmly. "O' m..mighty one, O' powerful one, we b..b..beg for you forgiveness. We are sorry to have a..a..awakened you from y..your sleep. Now w..w..we shall leave you, s..so please go rest in p..p..peace.". Seeing Dylan struggle on his own, Luke tried to chant along, though he kept making mistakes as he had not learned the speech.

Finally, the Loch Ness monster gave one last mighty roar and fell heavily into the dark murky depths of the lake, resting. A big cloud of smoke wafted up from the lake where the Loch Ness monster had fallen asleep. "Wow! He's big. I wonder what a baby monster looks like?" Luke asked picking up his rucksack and re-adjusting the straps. "That WAS a baby Loch Ness monster!" Dylan answered, brushing the dust off his Loch Ness book. Luke gasped in shock, "Lucky we met a baby one then. I wonder what an adult one looks like?" . Dylan was immediately reminded of that photo of the adult Loch Ness monster and he shivered, "You wouldn't want to know.".
