Cooing over a new pup my new friend, Linnet(sometimes known as Lin in this diary/book/text) sold to our family, I thought about the visit from Kimber that I had last week. "Cherry! Have you got a name yet?!" shouted my mum from downstairs. Linnet giggled, stroking the puppy. I grinned back and then suddenly whispered "Einstein moment. She looks so like Doodles, what about calling her Crayon?". Lin nodded encouragingly and I shouted back "Yeah mum! Crayon! Call the pup Crayon!". We had sausages and mashed potato for dinner and Lin stayed for a sleepover-that was after she phoned her mum of course! I texted my other best friend Belle to see if she could come as well. This was our awesome three-way text: Me : Belle! U there? Can u come 2 mine 4 a sleepover? Linnet: Please come! I'm going as well, I'm at Cherry's 2! Belle : Wait, I'll check with my mum... YES! Me : Woohoo! Linnet: YAY! THE END. Anyway, Belle came at around 7 "Because of the traffic" she said. We took turns in the bathroom and when it was my turn, I used my Vanilla shampoo and Strawberry & Milk body wash so I smelled extra good in case I still smell of the grease from the horrible fatty food restaurant. I run into my room after having brushed my teeth with Colgate and Belle and Linnet are already, rather suspiciously, in bed with fat lumps around their slim bodies. I switch off the light and snuggle to find no pillow was sitting on my peach pink bedcover. There was silence when suddenly, "PILLOWFIGHT!"! I yelped and Doodles, Crayon and Apple-Pie came bouncing up the stairs, barking madly. About a dozen pillows bounced on my head and I laughed, hitting the pillows. Both of them are asleep now and I learnt that my mum was part of this pillow ambush plan. I plan to do something as revenge against them... HaHaHa! I replaced my pink angry bird pyjamas for a fake knotted short-sleeve top that was a beautiful cornsilk colour. I matched it with a layered, light-aero-blue skirt. Belle changed into a cream-coloured dress, pinched at the waist and Linnet wore a loose, Alice-blue, thin wool top and stonewashed jeans. We looked so pretty and looked like we were sisters with our sandy coloured hair that fell over our shoulders. The only thing was Linnet has sky-blue eyes, Belle has cornflower blue eyes and I have peacock blue eyes. I didn't have the heart to scare them to death by making Doodles, Crayon and Apple-Pie bark really loudly (trust me, it's scary), oops, I said my plan! I opened my Cook-Book-Bake-Make book and flipped it to the 'Brilliant Banana Boat' recipe. Linnet and Belle smiled and started taking out the ingredients I told them to get. I had a hunch that this morning's banana boat was going to gain a lot of attention at lunchtime dessert! "Yes! Dessert!" shouted Belle, eyes shining as I carried the banana boats to the table. "Mmmm..." Linnet mumbled, gazing at the dessert. I smiled and gave them each their helping. Within seconds, their dessert was finished and they were licking their lips. I gaped and then Belle stuffed a spoonful in my mouth. My eyes widened and, scoff. Mine was finished as well. Banana Boats and Pillow Fights.

Baking Bonanza!-Apple-Pie and Chocolate cookies (M)

Crunching cheese and onion flavoured Pom-bear crisps, I was sprawled out on the cool, leather, black sofa. My(notice I said MY not our/my family) cavalier, Apple-Pie, was curled up beside me, fast asleep while I stuffed myself since dinner had been a not-very-appetizing cauliflower cheese. My 5 year-old sister, Liz, cuddled our dachshund, Doodles. My favourite 'Cook-Book-Bake-Make' was sitting on my right lap, Apple-Pie was sleeping soundly on the other. "Chocolate chip cookies, I'll get on reading that after school." I said, closing my book and taking out my Doodle-Book where I had sometimes scruffily scribbled down a few ingredients and instructions. Arghhhhhhh!" I screamed, staring into a pie-brown eye. Mum hurried in, dad rushed in and Liz crawled in. Apple-Pie licked my face and everyone bustled out, seeing as I was alright. Quickly, I set Apple-Pie back onto the floor and dragged myself out of bed, throwing off my slippers. Pulling on my loose, wool, long-sleeved top and some jeans, I thought about my junior-high(secondary in England), West Spindal. Dragging a red brush through my tousled hair, I watched Apple-Pie wag his tail at me. I hurried downstairs to stuff a syrup-covered pancake into my aquafresh-brushed mouth. I washed it down with a glass of milk and waved my goodbyes. I hugged Apple-Pie, grabbed my red, strappy bag and ran out of the house. "You going to the park, Cherry?" asked my best friend, Kimber. I shook my head, "Planning on getting on with chocolate cookies t'night. 'Sides, wouldn't leave Apple-Pie with my pie-obsessed family, including me!" I joked. Kimber groaned and wandered off with her latest new 'best-friend', Jas. I sighed, tossing a glance at the two, who were giggling and pointing at me. "I'm home!" I called, flinging my bag onto the sofa. Burying my face in my cavalier's fur, I flopped down on the sofa as well. I NEEDED to make chocolate chip cookies! Flicking to my latest page in my Doodle-Book, I tried to remember all the ingredients. I prepared the ingredients from what I had noted down in my book and double-checked them in my Cook-Book-Bake-Make recipe. Soon, the whole house was smelling of chocolate chip cookies as the cookies cooled down on a rack. I groomed Apple-Pie and tickled her, making her bark happily. Doodles immediately jumped over, giving a loud bark as if demanding we let her join in right this minute. We were having so much fun. I grinned, the sad news at school forgotten, until... RING RING! RING RING! RING RI-"Hello?" I said, picking up the phone. "Hi, is this Cherry?" a nervous voice replied, shaking on my name. "Kimber? It's fine if your with Jas, you know? She's a nice girl, popular and clever..." I trailed off, sighing as I realised, I never really had a shot at being the most popular and pretty girl, Kimber's, best friend. "Yeah, about that, sorry. Can I come over? Please?" a quivering voice pleaded from the other side of the phone. Apple-Pie gazed up at me with her pastry-brown eyes and Doodles stared at me with playful, crayon-blue eyes. "I guess. Bye." I answered, putting down the phone. DING DONG! The doorbell rang. It must be Kimber but I didn't do the whole: *Re-check/do make-up *Smooth skirt/blouse/dress *Smooth hair. I opened the door and welcomed her with a "Hiya, how are you?". Moving over, so she could come in, I smiled my usual smile, not the one I made up to impress Kimber. She sat down on the sofa and smiled sadly up at me. "Sorry." she said, crossing her slim legs. "Look, let's just forget it, OK? I was never meant to be your best friend. It just didn't work, alright? Cookie?" I asked her, offering the ones I just made. Apple-Pie and Doodles must have sensed betrayal on Kimber so they stayed with me. "Yeah, ok." Kimber agreed and we made up with a cookie. Apple-Pie and Chocolate Cookies.

Rainbow Beauty-Sorry... (M)

"Abbie! Liam's come to take us to relax at the beach!" shouted my oldest sister, Saff(Sapphire). Liam was a neighbour who was gay, but at first, my other sister, Grace, didn't know; she was supposed to be the clever one! I packed my marble-like pattern(peach and white) cozzie(swimming costume) and my Marble magazine. I am SO obsessed with marbles and their swirly, unique patterns! "I'm thinking fresh-made doughnuts..." muttered Grace, scooping up some sand as we walked towards a café, Cool-Cat Café. "I'm thinking fish and chips..." mumbled Saff, applying a layer of Berry-Nice lip gloss while digging her wedges into the hot sand. "I'm thinking seaweed wraps..." I thought out loud, eyeing the green seaweed. "What?!" spluttered Saff and Grace choked on her bottle of orange-juice. "No! Not to eat! Maybe we could introduce seaweed wraps for the face masks in Rainbow Beauty!" I exclaimed, laughing hysterically at my sisters' faces. So Liam and mum took us to the café and had fish and chips and doughnuts with Pepsi. After lunch, Saff took off her cardigan and wedges, slathered herself with sun cream, then found herself a blue and white stripy deckchair to read her magazine on. I stripped down to my marble-like cozzie and Grace came swimming with me. This was a delightful time and I grabbed some seaweed and threw it to mum and Liam for the wraps. Dunking my head in the water, I blew bubbles when I accidentally sighed of happiness. The cold water really cleared my thoughts when I realised Grace wasn't with me anymore. She and Saff had started a delicate, girly fight so I tiptoed over, ignoring the sticky sand on my newly pedicured feet. "I DO worry about my GCSEs, problem?" Saff shouted, wrenching off her dark shades. "You never even prepared or studied for them, you never made an effort!" spat Grace, clutching her mobile phone in her hand. "Well, you don't really know whether I have studied 'cos your never awake at midnight!" hissed Saff, sitting up on her deck chair and digging her toes into the sand for comfort. "Please don't! Liam took us here for an R&R, save it for later!" I begged, blanking mum and Liam's urgent shouts to leave Grace and Saff to it. "Brat!" screamed Grace, throwing her mobile into the sand and running to catch a bus as she tugged on her jeans and top despite being slightly wet. Tears slid down Saff's peachy skin. Picking up Grace's phone, I noticed she was still on an email from our secondary school, West Spindal Secondary. I quickly scanned the whole email and felt a pang of guilt for not asking why Grace was upset. It was her GCSEs, she failed, despite being the cleverest girl I knew. She would have to resit the test when her mates, Aran and Maisy also did the extra maths but managed their GCSEs. "Liam? Mum? We need to go home and talk to Grace. Please! Hurry!" I exclaimed, tucking Grace's phone into my patterned handbag. Sobbing could be heard inside Grace&Saff's shared room, I took out her mobile and pushed it through the gap between the door and the sand coloured carpet. I had typed in a note on her phone, on Notes and left it open so she should see it. Liam, mum, me and Saff all wrote something from our point of view after I shared the email. Mum decided we ought to have a nice cottage-y meal to show that, no matter how small the family/house,/food or whatever, we can still be happy/cosy/filled-up-with-simple-but-nice-food. A jug of creamy milk and freshwater fish was sitting on the table, new and fresh. There was also a lump of deep yellow butter to go with the small, bumpy potatoes. Grace stumbled over and plonked herself on a wooden chair. Me and Saff all found a tiny stool to sit on and waited for mum. "Don't worry dears! I'm coming!" she called from the kitchen. We waited in an awkward silence, staring at the food and pretending to be so starving that we couldn't take our eyes off the food. Of course, we were truly delighted when mum brought out a large and gloriously sticky marmalade roll, steaming hot from the oven. After supper, Grace flushed a deep candyfloss pink and said clearly-ish "Thanks for your support, I guess you guys were all right, it is probably something to do with the problems this term. I just want to say: Sorry Saff for not being supportive about your GCSEs. Don't study at midnight though! Sorry Abs for ruining your R&R when you really deserved it after being the one who thought of everything to make our beauty company, Rainbow Beauty, perfect and for calling you brat at the beach today. Sorry mum for making you worry about me and then burst out all angry without telling you the reasons. Liam, even though your not here, sorry for not being grateful for the way you helped us manage with all the problems when we first moved in and even now. Sorry everyone!". I guess that was an apology then! At night, I heard her creep to my bed and whisper "Sorry.".

Diary-Ballet Show (M)

Dear Diary, Hi and remember last time I told you about my very first ballet show? Well, Miss Alice-my ballet teacher-has some news! Firstly, we are NOT going to be dancing on grass, we're going to be dancing on a bandstand. The bandstand is a circle so Miss Alice decided to use this stick with roses and leaves-so it looks like it's decoration not a front showing thing-to show where the front is. Obviously though, as she clearly pointed out, we wouldn't be facing away from our parents so the stick is mainly for the little kids. Last practice, my partner Hamish had kind of sharp nails because it dug into my waist when he had to 'help' lift me up during a jump. Nell wasn't here so Olli had to manage on his own. Phoebe and Sebastian were here so only one pair was incomplete. Last practice, Miss(she's married but we still call her Miss not Ms or Mrs) Jennifer was here with the costumes. Well, she brought like a back up costume in case the actual tutu one didn't work. Then, she showed us these mini tutus and we all laughed hysterically. That was when she spilled the beans(the second news in case you're thinking she spilt baked beans on the floor)... The second news was, SHE WANTED ME TO BE IN THE GRADE 3 BALLET CLASS DANCE BECAUSE THIS GIRL MIGHT DROP OUT ON THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it! I mean, we have like, 2 lessons left and 1 dress rehearsal! Yes, Miss Jennifer said I could pick things up quickly but, NOT A WHOLE DANCE WITH A WHOLE DIFFERENT CLASS IN 3 PRACTICES!!!! Gosh, I'm so annoyed. I was like 'Thanks for letting me know so soon Miss Jennifer (NOT!) in my head and I still am! ...I'm completely humiliated! Miss Jennifer made me try on a mini tutu and I told her, "Uh, I don't think it's going to fit." I mean, really, I said that. Then, she said, "Oh it will, trust me." and annoyingly, IT DID! I mean it looked like a 3 year old could wear it, not GRADE 3(and now a broken record of Grade 4, 10 year old)! Urgh! What am I going to do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Fortune Teller-The Ball of Dreams (M)

My mum is a fortune teller. Don't get me wrong, she has the ball and stuff but she hasn't got that weird hat thing! My dad is a mathematician and feeds me all the information he figures out. So you see, I'm the odd number (sorry but it's hard not to catch the math phrase flu if my dad says one at least thrice a day!) out of all the even numbers. My 17 year-old twin sisters, Roxy and Riley argue ALL the time as Riley is sensible, smart but sizzles on your tongue if you annoy her; Roxy is popular, pretty (SLIGHTY more gothic and prettier than Riley) and a downright C (A+ though for her designing work). The one thing they have in common is, THEY HAVE NEVER CRIED IN THEIR LIFE! I'm the only sensible one, even my dad believes in fate though his supposed to be logical and sensible like me! My mum says she can see that they're both going to cry over a big, fat LIE... Stroking my kitten, Fortune, I munch on the chocolate truffle that my best friend Cherry gave me. Her step-family (her dad wasn't a step family) were a company called 'The Chocolate Box' and they made delicious chocolates with beautiful boxes. They live just down the road with us, in the glorious countryside. We were having a picnic when I saw a beautiful fortune cookie coloured kitten all alone with a chocolate coloured adult cat beside it. They looked so lost and alone that I begged my mum to let ME have Fortune the kitten so now she's MINE! The Tanberry family-Cherry's step family- took the beautiful brown cat and named her Chocolate Truffle. That night, Fortune didn't want to sleep with me because I didn't want to turn on the fairy lights. I wasn't scared! Well, maybe a bi, OK, a lot. So-as you can guess-I turned on the fairy lights straight away but it was too late because she had made herself comfy somewhere NOT in my bedroom. I drifted off uneasily, occasionally hearing snaps of conversations from my mum and totally scared lady who thought bad men were following her. Then I dreamt of a delicious, mouth-watering feast filled with tuna, salmon, all kinds of fish and milk. I tossed and turned but I couldn't help try not to wake up from this scrumptious feast. "Fortune!"... Beads of sweat trickled down from my eyebrows. I woke to see Fortune curled up by my feet and then, I took a drink of water. Re-looking at Fortune, I noticed that her back was sticking up as if something was underneath her but I ignored her and let her sleep. Pulling on the black, off-shoulder top that Roxy made me and reading the words sewn on by sequins saying 'I'm no geeky freak, I'm spicy and sugar sweet', I re-thought my decision. Replaced by my white, fake-knotted t-shirt, the black top lost it's shine. I put on some plain blue jeans when- "Where's my 'Ball of Dreams'?!" shrieked my mother's anxious voice. Everyone hurried downstairs. "So, what does this ball do?" asked Roxy tauntingly "Do all the work for you?". "Give it back you horrible girl!" screamed my mother, slamming her palms on the wooden table. Riley led Roxy out of the room but Roxy wouldn't budge and mum wouldn't let Roxy leave this room until she gave back the ball. I thought about yesterday's dream, that sounds like the sort of thing it might do. "Seriously though mum, does it show you the person's dreams?". My mum nodded, looking like a deflated balloon. I rushed upstairs and picked Fortune up to see an odd looking ball. "Is this it? Fortune had a weird ball under his tummy!" I called, struggling to keep Fortune up. The whole family rushed up and my mum hugged the ball tightly. "So YOU took mum's precious ball?" sneered Roxy, just plainly upset mum accused her but soon, it was all explained. You know, even though everyone agrees that the dream I dreamt was most definitely a catty dream(namely the kitten who had the ball whilst I was sleeping) but I still don't believe in such things...

Diary-My first ballet show(M)

Dear Diary, Sorry I haven't really had loads of time to write to you without properly good story ideas springing to mind just as I'm about to write the title. Anyway, my ballet teacher, Miss Alice, choreographed our routine for my first ballet show! YES! BTW, the show is actually going to be performed a the Holy Trinity School's Summer Fair, which will be in their park (yes, you've guessed it, we're most likely going to be dancing my first show on the grass! Mr Sun, you'd better not let me down!). In the routine, we're going to be doing a lot of paired dancing, meaning girl-boy partnering and the boys are going to be: Hamish(11), Oliver(Olli, 11) and Sebastian (12). The girls who will be performing are Melody (me, 10), Nell (age-anonymous) and Phoebe (age-anon). I don't know Nell and Phoebe's age because they're in Grade 5 in ballet and me, Hamish (he does both grades because Miss Alice is still deciding whether he should be Grade 5 or 4), Olli and Sebastian are Grade 4 dancers. Still, we're doing the same routine and I'm NOT going to be left out just because I'm one grade lower than Nell and Phoebe. Before I go on, I'm just going to tell you the pairs(they were sorted out using height order, bleurrgh!)which are... ** Me and Hamish * Nell and Olli and *Phoebe and Sebastian (what I just said was starting from the top are the smaller ones and Phoebe and Sebastian are the tallest ones). At the end of the routine, the boys have to end with tours(not the type where there are tourists and guides but the ballet type where you jump-spin) and so far, they're disastrous! HA HA! The final pose for the boys is kneeling on the floor and Miss Alice said MAYBE, get this, MAYBE she'll get us girls to SIT ON THE BOYS' KNEES! O' Miss Alice, O' Miss Alice, Please change your mind! O' Miss Alice, O' Miss Alice, Do be so kind!... Anyway, we also have to hold the boys' hand and at one point, they have to help us jump by lift-gripping our waists. Hamish always helps me up a millisecond before I actually jump and keeps on pulling and tugging at me though he probably doesn't know it! Grrr! I still find it hard to believe my first ballet show is 98% possible to be performed on the grass when the weather is still so unpredictable! what if it rains on us? Even me and Hamish (the best dancers!) will 99.999999%etc.(you get the point) going to slip on the wet grass, 2% possible to be slippery mats! Well, hopefully I'll get the time to report back after the show, so... See ya! ;-) Melody, *the brilliant ballerina*, the passionate pianist, the captivating cellist and talented tap-dancer. ;-)

Chocolate Date-Pink starbursted toast(M)

After Electra/Cleopatra's mum/Mrs Romania found a job as a chef, her boss, who kindly insisted we call her Helen, quite often treated them as VIPs and regulars! Almost everyday, Cleopatra and her best friend Cassia Lysa and her family also got vouchers and coupons. Now they often spent their dinner times or things at Chocolate Date. "Is that Jane Eyre?" Cassia asked, pounding over to Cleopatra in her denim jacket and leather boots. Cleopatra was too absorbed in her novel to notice and turned the crisp white page with her perfectly manicured hands. "Hellooooo?! Cleo?! Earth to Cleo!" Cassia shouted, sitting herself down on the large comfy sofa by the windows in Chocolate Date. Cleo/Cleopatra jumped, the warm hand-made chocolate-charm made by her father thudded on her chest. Smiling, Cass checked the cover of the velvet-y book. "It's the special velvet addition, Jane Eyre." Cleo half boasted, resisting the urge to burst out laughing at Cass's face when Cass stroked the cover, tracing also the silver letters. The two spent most of the evening buried in the book. "Bo-I mean, Helen. Should we do chocolate fondues with bread to dip as our special dessert today?" queried Electra, tugging at her white apron with fake splashes of chocolate at the corner. "Uh-huh. Let's make the price, say, £10.99?" Helen replied, not looking up from the orders online. Scribbling down all the things ordered and the dates to arrive, she passed them to Electra. "Take care of these orders. Don't forget to do the fondues!" Helen said, going to find Mrs Lysa/Jenna to make some cherry wine(Jenna was better at the drinks than Electra). "I'm gonna pop!" hissed Cassia as she sat up in the darkness of Cleo's room. "You know you shouldn't have ordered so much and besides, I won't let you be sick at my sleepover!" Cleo hissed back switching on her fairy lights. "Much be-" exclaimed Cassia before getting a cool hand clamping her mouth. Cleopatra sipped her water and sighed, wiping her hand on a tissue. Groaning, Cass clutched a cerise bowl that had cherries bordering it and thanked Cleo, who turned off the fairy lights the minute Cass got her (not really!) sick bucket. The next morning, the girls woke up very early in the morning to silence. They crept downstairs in their pyjamas and found a post-it note saying 'got to go. Make toast for yourself. Left pink starburst cocktail in fridge. Bye'. Cleo changed into a white sleeveless top, denim shorts and a baggy pink cardigan which you tie into a bow with the two sides. Cass put on a loose pink wool top with denim shorts. Then they made toast, drizzled some icing that tasted like starburst (but Electra thought was a failure) onto the toast and poured each other a glass of pink starburst cocktail. "Toast to Electra for helping Chocolate Date's business boom!" Cleo said holding up her glass and then gulping down some. "Cheers!" the girls chorused just as the sun rose high into the air...

Cleopatra stroked Saturn, eyes fixed on the movie, Pride and Predjuce. Obviously, being a fan of Jane Austen, Cleopatra had a whole set her books and the DVD if they had one. "Look! Mr Darcy's meeting Elizabeth!" shrieked Cassia, Cleopatra's best friend, while popping a chocolate-coated strawberry into her mouth. Cleopatra smiled dreamily reaching out to dip her strawberry in chocolate. Her mother was very good at making chocolate things, chocolate fondues, chocolate-dip, chocolate cakes, chocolates etc. Cassia was always jealous and often nipped over to share the chocolate. Today was Cleopatra's birthday and she had invited Cassia to a sleepover, including a little Jane Austen movie as well as chocolate. "Electra, you should open a restaurant!" commented Cassia, crunching chocolate covered coconuts. They had finished a mouth-watering dinner and were onto a heavenly chocolate-y dessert. Electra, Cleo's (Cleopatra's) mum, blushed the colour of her 'Pink Starburst Cocktail'. It was non-alcoholic and basically was as bad to kids as a Pepsi every so often. "Mum's been offered a place at 'Chocolate Date' which is a restaurant but the desserts are mainly chocolate! Mum's cooking style exactly! Guess what, she agreed!" burst out Cleo, jumping up from her seat. Cassia high-fived Cleo before they settled down to finish their dessert in front of paused Mr Darcy. It was the summer holidays and today was the day Mrs Romania's (Cleo's mum) first day to work! Cassia phoned her mum to tell the news to and was given permission to meet up at the restaurant. Cassia changed into the velvet top and black leggings that her mother bought her for her own birthday. Cleo changed into a silk baby-blue dress matched with delicate sapphire blue pumps. A perfect replica of a chocolate hung on a silver necklace, hung on Cleo's peachy neck. Cleo was definitely 'Queen of Fashion', Cassia coming right after. Electra wore a deep wine coloured dress, a pair of fine silky heels and the same necklace that Cleo had. It was a family thing since only Cleo's father could make such a fine replica of anything, especially a chocolate. "So, what's this about eh?" asked Mrs Lysa, Cassia's mum, sipping a pink starburst cocktail while admiring the restaurant. Cleo was in the library down the road, using the computer to print off coupons, leaflets and posters she designed. Cassia had texted Cleo to say that Electra likes the deign as well as the boss of Chocolate Date. Right now, Cleo probably had the coupons, posters and leaflets in her hand and was walking down the road towards them. Cassia turned and waved at Cleo. When Cleo finally arrived and handed the things to the boss, Cassia explained what was happening with Cleo chipping in on things. Mrs Lysa smiled down at the cocktail "The boss has found the right person and I can help."... It had already been a month and business was booming, no one knew of the secret ingredients to make the chocolate dessert or the meals delicious but all they knew was that all their regulars or VIPs asked for Electra to cook their meal and no one else. Cleo still spent loads of time with her mum, becoming an extra mini waitress which some VIPs and regulars both loved having come with their meals. Mr and Mrs Romania both had jobs but still spent time loving their families.

Groaning, I rolled onto my sides, wincing at my painful leg. This couldn't get worse! I had been dumb enough to agree to try out the Triple Axel in my ice-skating class a couple of days ago and managed to break my leg. Humph! So much for the 'break a leg' cards I received when the word was out that me, Tania who is 'Young Champion Skater' was going to try my first Triple Axel! Luckily they don't care I broke a leg that I failed but just agreed that the Triple Axel trying; they don't care was hard. 'Hard' hardly describes it! Grrrr! Lying in bed reading 'Fabrique' magazines, I thought about the boy partner I was supposed to meet. Would he be good enough to keep up with me? Would I even get out of this horrid hospital in time to have enough practise? My mum called, "I'm bringing your 'Skating on Thin Ice' t-shirt with the tight jeans, your pair skater is coming.". I froze. "Thanks for telling me so soon, NOT, mum!" I shouted into my Verizon phone and found my 'Skating in Thin Ice' novel. Skimming the pages, I couldn't concentrate. Finally mum arrived, as quickly as possible, I changed. Now just who would be able to keep up with me?... "Hey." a warm voice said, tapping my shoulder. A boy with sandy-coloured hair grinned at me. Raising my eyebrows, I looked him up and down. He didn't look like a serious type! "Tania Dunn. Your name?" I asked, putting down my book. "Zac's the name. Zac Maguire. Hi Tania, you're pretty brave to try the Triple Axel." he nattered on, cheeky green eyes sparkling at me every so often. My ice-blue eyes could kill him on the spot but, what type of partner would I get then? A nurse called Honey handed me two cans of coke. Puzzled, I stared at her, waiting for to give the answer away. Her honey-sweet eyes flickered over to Zac and smiled at me. I blew a strand of hair out of my eyes and handed the coke to Zac. "Thanks Tan!" he exclaimed, I choked, did he just call me Tan? I mean, how long have we known each other? (The answer is five minutes!) With Zac to help me pass the time, I was soon out of this horrible hospital. When I first stepped on the ice-rink, my leg gave way and I slipped but Zac-he just has to act all super-hero-y didn't he- caught me by the arm. His grin could have melted anyone's heart but not mine. I would have him dead if he didn't skate well! The practise went well, my leg grew used to the feeling of skating again and we went through a routine together. He was quite strong, able to keep me up during tabletop lifts. Phew! I didn't fancy drinking coke with the company of Honey again! It was the show day and I received loads of 'Break a Leg' cards but, no matter what colour, the senders used markers to write 'Don't' in front of 'Break' and 'Again' after 'Leg'. Sweet! The show went fine, the slips were turned into on-purpose new moves that me and Zac invented on the spot. It went better than we planned and people threw roses! Hmm, maybe Zac wasn't so bad after all...

Paige Tanberry Almost immediately, a received a text back saying 'Take a photo of u and then send it 2 me.'. I checked myself in the mirror and took a photo of cowgirl me, Paige, then sent it to the Ellie Stanford girl. No text came back, maybe Ellie Stanford got put off by my profile. She wouldn't be one of THOSE people, right?... Ellie Stanford I sent back the text to a girl called Paige Tanberry and asked for her photo. She looks gorgeous! Angel strode in at that time so It slipped my phone into my silk black pocket while Angel was talking to Francesca about Francesca's page. What if Paige Tanberry thought I was put off by her profile? What if she thought I was one of THOSE people?... Paige We had family lunch but I seemed to have lost my appetite worrying about my new Text-Pal. Well, was she even my Text-Pal? The bacon got stuck in my throat and I choked a bit. It was only a bit but Skye started patting me, Summer brought a glass of water, Paddy(dad) passed me a bucket-he thought I would be sick- and Charlotte made me take deep breaths, as for Coco, she was outside playing. The bacon felt dry in my mouth and the water felt slippery and sly like a spy sliding into my body. Ewww! Lying on the small, comfy and squidgy beanbag in Skye and Summer's room, she thought carefully about the photo she sent, perhaps she should check with Summer and Skye first; they were great with fashion! Skye rummaged about in her vintage chest and found a less floppy brown hat and a printed blue dress, pinched at the waist. Finally, she drew out a pair of white wedges in which she thought suited Paige a bit more and didn't like much herself so gave the whole outfit as a gift to Paige. Paige accepted it gratefully, cooing at the relaxing feeling of the cotton. In the bathroom, Paige had changed, the dress felt perfect against her skin and she made a mental note to go shopping with Skye sometime. Preparing to get dumped with pink with Summer, she showed off the dress to the twins. With Skye's set, she would wear the light blue feathers. Snapping a photo with the background of Skye's window seat, Paige grinned a countryside grin. Ellie My phone just vibrated again! I patted my pocket and stroked my cream-coloured dress with a pink rose pinned. I hated this dress but Angel insisted I wear it for the day. I am so not going to snap away wearing this! Finally, I arrived back at home. I changed into white shorts and a frilly tank top and fastened my serpentine bracelet onto my arm. Wearing my strappy heels, I took a photo with a background of my large TV. Sent off, the photo whizzed onto the chat board for me and Paige. I hope that now she knows I'm not one of THOSE people! Paige Ooh! She's NOT one of THOSE people! I'm so glad! Paige and Ellie It's all a misunderstanding, or should I say, a misundertexting!

Today, my four-year-old sister's friend, Danny, and his Year1 sister, Jackie came to our house. We played many fun games, though there were always some disruptions... First, we ran upstairs to my room where we played Barbie, Danny was asleep so he didn't join in for that. Jackie and my sister, Becca laughed whenever I rose my voice in a comical way. We played that for a while, acting silly-for instance we poured the imaginary tea, from a miniscule teapot, onto each other's heads and dumped the Barbie dolls into my craft pot and shut them in there, pretending they were having a bath. Then, we got bored of that game. Next, we went into my bed/study room and played 'Mummy and Daddy' with my bunk bed. I was the mum and Jackie and Becca were kids. We would pretend to sleep and go to school in the morning, I'd be the teacher. We would mess about on my whiteboard and then pick randomly at my lolly sticks. Lastly, I would pick Jackie or Rebecca (sometimes both!) to be the 'Star of the Day'. We played that a few times when Danny woke up and trotted upstairs to find us. We had a new addition to the class and a brother who appeared in the family! Jackie and Danny's mum came and told them to go home but they managed to persuade her to let them stay for another 5miutes. We carried on until their mum said their dad was already home as it was 6:00; they found a way to persuade their mum for another 10 minutes! Quickly, we ran downstairs and pondered for a while about what to do next. I wanted to play ball out in the garden but my mum said that would make them cry when 10 minutes was up. In the end, we settled for a story called 'Dream Big, Little Pig!'. They all listened, entranced; Danny ate some grapes while HALF listening. As soon as I finished the story, 10 minutes was up. The persuading(also a bit of a strop) didn't work this time so they went home. I found myself actually a bit disappointed despite them being loads younger than me! They had to go so we waved 'bye' to them. Over all, today was fantastic and fun! It's nice playing with people smaller than me for a change! Bye!

Ellie Stanford In front of me stood the large glass building which was the office of Heart magazine. My tummy flipped over when I stepped into the light building, I was so excited just being in here. Last summer, I was chosen by the Chief Editor, Angel, to help out. Now I go every holiday! It's the best job a fourteen year old could get! "Hi there Pea-are-no!" I called out, pronouncing Piano's name the way she liked it. Piano was just a normal worker and she didn't get on very well with me. Piano glanced up from her screen and sneered, "Oh, it's you again." and then re-read her article. "Do you know where my laptop is?" I asked searching for my shiny silver laptop. Piano pointed on dark-blue painted nail at a tidy desk in the next office. I beamed at her and walked out of that room/office and into the next. "Hello Francesca!" I smiled, sitting down on the comfy red chair. Francesca smiled back and then started to type furiously. It was just a normal busy day at Heart offices. Paige Tanberry Summer, Skye(they're twins), Coco and I were at the fair. I was there wondering if one of my paintings were chosen for the competition. I shuffled past stalls and my eyes flickered over adverts when something caught my eye. A new Heart magazine was coming out the day after tomorrow! I grinned, sipping my strawberry-flavoured Frappuccino whilst walking over to the lea. My sisters were already there, obviously bored. Flopping down onto the grass, I spilled the news as we were all fans of the Heart magazine. They promised to help me persuade Paddy(our dad) and Charlotte(our mum). As we walked home together, we guessed what might be featuring, girl bands, boy bands, shoes, clothes etc.... Heart never let us down no matter what was featured. Soon we would have some delicious gossip to sink our teeth into... Ellie As soon as I logged in, an email from Angel pinged up. I double-clicked it and there were only four words 'Come to my office.'. I gulped, smoothing down my dress and hoping that my make-up was ok. "You're fine!" Francesca said, making me more confident as I walked out of the heavy glass doors. Gulp... Knocking on Angel's heavy wooden door, I wished for no lectures. "Ye-es?" a soft, gentle voice answered. Anyone new would be deceived as Angel was like a kitten, soft and cute, but hiding razor sharp claws, in this case, a sharp tongue. I stepped in. "You were going to check me?" I said, speaking as confidently as possible. Angel nodded, she looked me up and down, taking in the make-up, clothes and shoes. "You look satisfactory. Go now and if you have any last minute ideas, see me or email." Angel replied in a crystal clear voice. She closed a drawer in her desk and began tapping the keys on her computer, taking care not to chip the dark pink nail varnish on her perfectly manicured hands. I gave a sigh of relief once I was back in my seat, a whole magazine page on the screen in front of me. My turquoise-coloured iPhone 4s vibrated in my silk black dress pocket. I smoothed down my rope-like belt with long extra bits with tassels hanging down. I shuffled my leather-cow-girl-boots encased feet, awkward in case anyone heard. A text had arrived from my friend Hannah, a text, that just gave me an idea! TextPals... Paige Charlotte took me shopping and I found some gorgeous feathers that you can weave into your hair. I pleaded Charlotte to buy me five of each colour that 'Crow's Nest' were selling. She rolled her eyes but still bought it. After that, I found a colourful checked button-up shirt, tight jeans and cow-girl-boots. Guess what! She bought them for me! Charlotte is the best mother ever! At home, I ran upstairs in secret, changed into my new clothes and weaved in the brown and white feathers. When I went down, my sisters were so jealous! But really, Skye suited vintage dresses and floppy hats more, Summer suited pink things more and Coco looked best in a casual top and some jeans. I was wearing this to go and buy Heart! Ellie After I planned out the TextPals page, I typed it up on the magazine page. After double-checking it looked alright, I called Francesca over to triple-check. With her to say 'excellent', I had a higher chance with Angel. After I sent off the page, lunch break bell rang, so I checked my messages from Han(Hannah). Loads of texts but not one seemed caring. Han usually sent loads of CARING ones, not ones about her and Jasmine(Jas). Hmmm... Paige It's the day! I am snuggled up in bed reading Heart and there's this awesome page called 'PenPals, No, TextPals, Yes!' It's all about staying together using texts, not letters. The writer wrote her number and said she would text back if she wanted to keep in touch. Also, if your looking for a pal, send your number, name and what type of person you want to Heart Offices, 9 on Fabulouso Road, SW27 9HM (one way to remember HM is Heart Magazine). I liked the sound of Ellie Stanford so I texted her all about me, stuff like name, age, likes, dislikes etc. She texted back! I'm officially friends with her! We agreed to meet up sometime, depending on what our parents say! Ellie and Paige TextPals 4eva! Awesome!

"That's my book!" May Hunt(13) yelled, her dark Italian hair swishing behind her. April Hunt(12) tugged at the book equally hard, flicking her dark brown fringe off her face. A beautiful woman with long dark brown hair stood in the doorway, grey, misty eyes resting on April's similar hair. The woman smiled and called "Dinner!", brushing back her fringe. A handsome man was setting the table, dark Italian hair the most handsome feature. May Hunt's hair was exactly like her father's but her grey, misty eyes were her mother's. April Hunt had her mother's dark brown hair but her father's mesmerizing green eyes. Little did May know about what was going to happen... Ghost purred on May's lap, tail tickling April's chin. Black was curling up by Ivy, May and April's gorgeous-inside-out mother, while Hunt rubbed itself against Ivy's other leg. April was giggling about her first day of secondary while May was looking forward to her trip to Aunt Thalia's. Oscar, their handsome-inside-out father, was emailing his colleagues about the Grand Opening of the new fun park called 'Catch'. Oscar was a fun park&ride maker and he was always involved in the Grand Opening. Ivy was recalling that today was the day it happened when she was 13 years old. The whole family was absorbed in their own thoughts and no one noticed the storm brewing outside. The storm carried on, stopping abruptly-TOO abruptly-at midnight. What was going on?... The next morning, May's parents weren't there sitting. Thinking that they probably just went out shopping, she carried on her usual schedule. She buttered the scones and called April down for breakfast. April pattered down the marble stairs in her champagne slippers, stuffed her breakfast and washed it down with orange juice, then flopped down on the sofa to sleep. May pulled on her hoody and then walked out. May cycled out to visit Aunt Thalia. The sun was stinging her back like a bee while the shade was darkening the world like grey clouds. May wore her red converse trainers and a peach pink hoody. She wore cheap light blue jeans and a black digital watch. 'What was it her mum was scared about?' she thought, pedalling until she saw a dinky little cottage. May walked her bike through the gates and locked it up. The window was open and the smell of burnt baked mince and tatties floated out. May knocked on the door but there was no answer. 'What if something happened?' she worried, looking around. It was scarily silent and not busy, there were no adults at all. She ran to the window and stepped onto the sill. May slid in to find a burnt lunch on the stove. Quickly, she switched off the fire and peered in. Half expecting to see Aunt Thalia napping, May crept into the living room to be welcomed by emptiness. 'What was going on?' she thought, 'I'll ride home to check.' and she rode her bike back home. Unlocking the door, she saw April standing anxiously in the doorway. "Where's Mum?" April whispered in a hoarse voice, her turquoise blackberry in her hand. May hugged her, tears spilling. "They've disappeared! I know it! That's what mum was scared of!" April screamed, her bunches damp with tears "All the adults! Every single one o' them! Cowards! Why are they hiding?". May stayed silent, weeping into April's shoulder. April threw her arms around May and cried and cried and cried. "I've phoned them. Mrs Jenkins, Mr Bill, Old Penelope, mum and even dad. They're gone." she whispered "They're gone. G.O.N.E. I tell you.". The girls nicked some food from the fridge and microwaved it. They ate lunch in silence. They ate dinner in silence. They had their showers in silence and they went to sleep in silence. The two of them snuggled together at night and cried themselves to sleep. It was fine until midnight. Lightning struck at midnight then it all disappeared. The next morning, Oscar and Ivy were sitting at the table, hand in hand. They were delighted to be back at their house so as to see their daughter's again. "Mum! Dad! Golly! You're back! April! Sleepy worm! Ape! Get yourself down 'ere!" May exclaimed, frozen to the spot on the expensive Persian carpet. April ran downstairs, squealing like a nine year-old again. The three cats were already curled up on the parents. There was a wonderful heart-breaking reunion as they hugged. "I'm just glad we're freed!" the parents exclaimed. Aaaawwwwww!

Dear diary,,, I'm back with important news to tell you. The 'The Sweet House' 's grand opening is tomorrow! The clothes are all sorted. Me and Sugar(my big sis) are wearing silk, light pink dresses that are soft and floaty with pictures of a red lollipop and fluffy pink wool decorating the hem of our dresses. The dress goes down to our knees and we had to wear short white socks matched cleverly with pale pink flats. It's so sweet and candy-ish! Still Thursday but now in the afternoon, Mum said I ought to miss school till the business has started but, NO WAY if I'm not even allowed to text my best friends, Cassia, Capri and Willa! Cassia and Capri are identical twins (they're in the same class because their eyes are different colours and their hair's slightly different as well) and they are also my best friends. Willa's more normal, like me and she has a younger brother called Max. Cassia has gorgeous red-y brown hair while Capri has strawberry blonde-y brown hair. The difference makes them two twins look quirky and funky. Cassia has mischievous green eyes but Capri has sunny blue eyes. My eyes are kind of grey-ish blue. There dress sense is cool and literally identical to each others. Willa has silky brown hair, one side a bit tufty and the other side straighter. She calls it her Willa-Signature style and deliberately puffs the tufty side and combs straight the straighter side. She has grey eyes that always glint. Her dress sense is normal-jeans and stuff- but she, like Capri and Cassia, both suit any clothing. I invited them to Friday 3:00 's 'The Sweet House' 's grand opening. They all decided to wear matching candy pink skirts with white blouses. This is so exciting! Friday 2:50pm, I'm all dressed! Today, the teacher told us that because the grand opening(yes, she actually told the whole class) we could all go home at 1:00. My friends will be here soon! Ding Dong! Oh, they're here! Wait a sec... Friday 10:00pm, They're parents agreed for us to sleepover at mine today! We snuck downstairs, even Sugar did, and grabbed a bag. Filling it up with leftover sweets(my parents are going to make more on Sunday-Saturday(a week)), we tiptoed upstairs and stuffed our faces. Sugar offered to bring us all a small cup of C2 coke and when she came in, we heard a noise. I pushed the tray under the bed and Sugar stood normally over me, Capri, Cassia and Willa. "What are you doing Suge, darling?" hissed my mum. "I was checking on them, I'll be quiet, don't worry. I'm gonna stay for a while because I think they might be thirsty after today." came my perfect sister's whisper. Mum sighed and closed the door quietly. As soon as mum left, we took out the tray and sipped our coke. I washed down the stickiness with fizzy, cold coke. Running for our toothbrushes and toothpaste, I worried. Finally, when we all re-brushed our teeth and gurgled some water. We washed our mouths with clean water and fell asleep...zzzz... I think I have a sweet tooth! Catch up on my next diary, Sweet Saskia!

"We're going to open a sweet shop?!" I cried, mouth hanging down just as far as it could possibly go and my eyes rounder than anything in the world. I hugged my mum so tight I think if I hadn't let go, she'd have suffocated! I ran upstairs and pulled out my top drawer. Rummaging about, I finally found my notepad and my special pencil; I found them in my box of chocolates at Surprises are Sweet. Crunching on a Toblerone triangle, I doodled a nice little shop with lemon yellow and pink fabric rain-shelter and a pink and blue sweetie sign hanging down. "Bedtime Vanilla!" mum shouted. Dear diary,,, Vanilla, my name, was chosen because they love vanilla and as for my poor sister, Sugar, well, that's her business. I'm writing now because I'm so busy at daytime. Yawn. It's ten now so, night night diary. Thursday morning, Gosh! We're in such a rush! Mum said we're going to buy the shop next to us and we're going to be late for the appointment. I'm not in a rush and neither is Sugar, so mum's shouting. Urgh! But anyway, I'm used to getting shouted at and I'm on cloud nine that we're going to start a shop! Afternoon, We had, well me and my best sister ever Sugar, had banana pancake and a can (shared) of C2 coke. Although Sugar is already 15 and could easily just ignore me, she doesn't. She stands up for me even if she knows she'll get told off as well. I stand up for her as well so we make a perfect team. We've bought the shop and mum's baking lollies while she left us, the SugarVanilla team to make toffee/chocolate apples. Gran came earlier and she's helping make homemade marshmallows. Sweet smells are fillin' the air... Midnight, Sugar saved some of the sweets which mum gave her to taste-test (she didn't give me some because I was busy designing the labels and not helping out by making toffee/chocolate apples with Sugar) so now we're having a midnight feast, I mean midnight taste-test. Oh, my tummy! Zzzzzz... Friday morning, Hi diary! This is great! We are now decorating the shop and they've bought a lemon-yellow and pink striped fabric for the rain-shelter. They also bought me a large cream coloured card and I'm drawing a multi-colour house made from sweets as our logo. Underneath, in a pink felt-tip, I wrote our slogan- 'Treat yourself to a Sweet House'-and then picked up the scissors. Once I'd cut out the picture(don't worry, I didn't cut the slogan separately) leaving a 30cm space of white as the border so there was still white all around it, I stood back to admire my hard work. My job was done so now I have to go meet the others(if anyone else finished) at the café. Friday lunch, Everyone else hasn't finished and they suggested we have lunch and go back to our house and wait for them there. Me and Sugar-because she got to the café at the same time as me-had a burger, fries and Pepsi. Then, we went home to take forty winks. Just saying... The next Thursday, The shop is sweet! We have everything done: The sweets \/(check) Decoration \/ First customer~ cross First coins~ cross Catch up on the next diary-Sweet tooth

Alexia's birthday(M)

Smiling, Alexia Yuki made her way to the stage, held the heavy glass trophy high above her head and carried it back home. That day was the day of the fair and now that the awards ceremony was finished, it was the talk of the day. Alexia polished her 'Talented young child' glass trophy and stared at it. "Lexi!" a cheerful voice shouted and behind Alexia appeared her best friend Chantal Rose. The two best friends hugged and then flopped down on the two red bean bag chair-things. Squishing the bag, Chantal enjoyed the feeling of being at Alexia's house and breathed in the aroma-filled air. Alexia grinned madly and shouted "I WON A TROPHY!" at the top of her voice and then dragged Chantal downstairs and outside. The two of them fussed over Alexia's dog, Pluto and made space for Fyn, Alexia's twin brother when he came to play catch with Pluto. Fyn tossed a stick in the air and let Pluto slip off to get it. "It's gran's birthday and we've gotta go live with her as a treat." he informed, flicking his fringe out of his eye. Alexia nodded, slipping Pluto a dog treat. Chantal gasped, "You're actually OK with this? This isn't permanent, right?" as she jumped up from the grass. Her long brown hair swinging behind her and the rose in her hair fixing the top part. Alexia rolled her eyes and without speech, Chantal received the message. Not permanent. Texting, Alexia was bored to death. Her eyes scanned for the letters and pressed them with her newly-painted aqua blue nails. Fyn was drumming his fingers on the sofa, not bothering to start a conversation with birthday gran. Passing Fyn a tenner, she offered to let him go by a football or something. When Fyn was gone, gran offered Alexia a tenner as well. Knowing her manners, she didn't accept it but gran pressed it into her hands and pushed her to the door. "Buy a treat. Some lemon bonbons or pear drops or something. Get a comic or whatever you call those girly things." she called as Alexia ran out of the door. At the corner shop, the red and yellow pear drops shone at Alexia and the stripy and colourful chocolate satins glittered at Alexia. Grabbing a handful of pear drops, two handfuls of chocolate satins and a tiny handful of lemon bonbons, she dumped them in her basket. 'Girl's Life' stood out at her and in a flash, she whipped them into her basket. Bored once again, she joined the queue. Fyn was back with a pair of brand new football boots and a football bouncing at his side. Alexia scattered the sweets and everyone lunged forward and grabbed handfuls to eat. Alexia's hand plunged into the sweets pile and grabbed the chocolate satins. Stuffing them in her mouth, she flicked open the 'G.L.(Girl's Life)' magazine and choked on her water at the photo. Fyn ran over to the flowery armchair and coughed at the photo. Alexia was there with the trophy high above her head. Her aqua nails were dry now so she rubbed her nails against her cheeks in excitement. Her gran congratulated her and said she could share the excitement with gran for another week. It was all arranged! Groan!

Coke Club (M)

Paulette gazed at the photo of her when she was a toddler; she clutched a coke bottle. Unscrewing it, she thought about what happened at school. She took a swig of the fizzy cherry coke and smiled. Everything seemed better after a drink of coke. Her mother was a dentist so there were no worries about yellow teeth and her father was a doctor there were no worries about health. Paulette's sister was gorgeous and was studying for fashion designing and make up artistry. What a family! The next day, Ambre pinned Paulette's hair into a loose bun and clipped a fringe with a coke bottle. Paulette glugged down the sweet vanilla coke and dropped it into the bin. She still kept the lids and they always said 'Coca Cola' or 'Vanilla Coke' etc. It was her second day at Twilight Academy and she found some friends. Wearing a dyed-shirt where the two colours, magenta and peacock blue blended together and leggings that is a beautiful wine purple, she was ready to stun the girls. Groups of girls were sitting together, sharing gossip and nibbling their lunch. Bunches of boys were sitting together, laughing at jokes and shouting things. Paulette sat with Alexia, Zoe and Clare. We tucked into our lunch and drank our coke together. "Hey," Paulette suddenly exclaimed "We could form a Coke Club!". Zoe held up her bottle and smiled. Alexia and Clare did the same after they drank in the thought. Clinking bottles with each other, the form was filled, the applications were sorted and there was no need to talk things over now. They were the Coke Club. Whizz...whizz. Paulette took out four coke lids and placed them on her badge-making machine. That afternoon, she had written a list of the girls favourite flavoured coke and brought it home to turn into Coke Club badges. Alexia had begged for a Coca Cola Raspberry badge-no problem, Paulette had a lid for that. Zoe asked for a Coca Cola C2 badge-fine with Paulette who had a badge for almost every flavour. Clare pleaded for a Coca Cola Lime badge-Paulette whisked one out immediately. Finally, Paulette took out her soon-to-be Coca Cola Black Cherry Vanilla lid. That badge was the finishing badge. With that, the Coke Club began, each member had a Coke badge on their favourite flavour. Yum!

I brushed my long hair and swirled it into a doughnut bun. I pulled out hair from the sides to make me look nice. Jennifer pleaded me to do her hair for her so after I finished mine, I sat behind her. Pulling the brush through her hair, I swept it onto her head like a bun but pulled out a lot of hair so that the bun was mini. Today was Saturday and it was a no school day. All the Goldrocks students were either having a lie-in, preparing to go out or already out. I pulled on a black skirt that had lightning strikes, pink hearts and spiky, yellow stars. Above that, I pulled on a colourful checked, button-up shirt. Jennifer was in the bathroom, brushing her clean teeth so I could change in here. I didn't need tights because the weather was fantastic so I slipped on some you-don't-need-socks trainers. Jennifer came out so it was her turn to change. It was squeezy in the bus and people kept on bumping into us. Jennifer kept on smoothing her emerald-green top and patting her peach puffy, layered skirt. Her feet kept on shuffling so I guess it was awkward for her as well. I stared down at her brown boots until it was our stop. Hurrying down the stairs, I secretly looked forward to going to Dress to Impress. Dress to Impress was a fashion centre where you dress nicely to have a chat or a makeover. Jennifer had a friend called Nessa who studies there, as a fashion designer. I was really nervous about meeting Nessa. At Dress to Impress, Nessa was already waiting there. Nessa was a beauty queen! She actually looked at me and said "You're looking good!". I thanked her and Jennifer mentioned that it was me who did her hair! It was so embarrassing! At least I met a new friend! We got back rather late and Jennifer surprised me by asking the Cook whether we could have a cup of lemonade and some of her chocolate fudge brownies. Cook agreed and actually told us that if we're ever hungry, we can go to her and she'll find something to let us snack on! This school rocks! Definitely! The next day, we had a lie-in. Ok, more like Jen(Jennifer) had a lie-in while I feasted on lemonade and brownies. Jen suggested I put on some make up and she'd see when she woke up; I just put a slick of cherry lip gloss and a tiny bit of mascara though. When I finished my delicious breakfast, I phoned my mum and she sounded alright! She said the flat was not bad. Well I said this school was definitely not at all bad! It was terrific! Jen woke up and gaped at me and the make up. I wiped it off with cleansing wipes and she started gabbling on about how gorgeous I was with make-up on, even just that bit. Well, I think I have made 3 friends, Cook, Nessa and Jen.

I zipped up my suitcase and pulled it out of the room. Without a glance back, I dragged my suitcases and bags downstairs. I stepped into the taxi and allowed my things to be piled and shoved so that they would squeeze mine in as well. My mum sat next to me and I slipped my hand into hers, shaking. Not wanting to move, we were forced to because of my boarding school. New York, here I come... At the airport, my tummy was rumbling and my cheeks were aching from smiling at all the assistants, pretending I was fine. We ran into the plane, worried we would be forced to wait because of being to late. Luckily, the journey went well. Clink clink! 5 dollars dropped into the taxi's hand as I set off on my own towards Goldrocks Boarding School. I was off. Mrs Halliday, a kind lady who helps us for everything, showed me to my room. The uniform was my size and crisp and clean. On the top bunk in my room was a red-haired girl listening to music. I unpacked in my drawer and half cupboard when the girl called. "Newbie! What's your name?" she asked, wrenching out her earphones. I mumbled, "Casey Quinn" and then I snuggled into bed. The next morning, it was raining cats and dogs. I pushed open the window and breathed in the fresh air. The girl tapped me on the shoulder and mouthed, 'I'm Jennifer." still listening to music. I pulled the windows shut and nodded. The lessons went well, I was give a 600-paged history book, a 365-paged science book, a 200-paged literacy book and a 200-paged maths book. I tucked the books under my duvet so I would remember to read it that night, then, went out for recess. It would be awkward as I don't have any friends apart from Jennifer-who would most likely be in her own friend bunch. I square my shoulders, ready for recess. Many kids sat in groups, talking about 'The Lone Ranger' or were squeezing around a brightly-coloured comic. Girls were skipping along, whispering secrets and gossiping about magazines. The boys were running about, still pulling some girls' pigtails or playing football. In a corner, listening to music and reading a book, sat a girl. I walked over, soon realising it was Jennifer! Tapping her shoulder, I sat down on my ruby-red skirt. My gold-coloured blouse was still clean and crisp, but Jennifer's was mud-patched. "What happened?" I queried. She refused to tell me until night-time. "My friends dumped me," she began, not crying at all "For being friends with you, but I don't regret it."! She hugged me. I knew what she meant, best friends forever. A good start to a new school.

Autumn began that very Saturday with the temperature 17 degrees exactly. My (call me Ralph) grandfather took me and Ffion to 'New Fashion' to buy us some clothes. He was a very rich man and often treated me to nice things-for instance, gems and pearls-that I chose. I hadn't been to 'New Fashion' for ages and me and Ffion were dazed at the beauties on display. We had stepped out of the silver Porsche when we were frozen with awe. I grabbed Ffion and we ran up to the clean, clear windows. Pressing our hands against the cool surface, we admired the dresses and shoes. Ralph dragged us into the shop and we just literally turned statue-still. There were gorgeous dresses and beautiful accessories. It was as good as 'Ciao Bella!' but more expensive, a lot more! A pretty red-haired assistant walked over to us and asked the usual 'Can I help you?'. "A dress, a necklace, an earing, shoes." I stuttered, feeling butterflies flying in my tummy. Ffion had gone quiet, eyes staring at the assistant. "Danique! Is Clea here? S'il vous plait revenir! (Please come back! in French)". Danique swept Ffion into a reunion hug and gave a nod which came with a reply, "Oui(Yes)! Clea is here working!" also accompanied by my confused glances. So it went on until Ralph cut in. Happily, Danique and Clea checked our sizes, eye colour, hair colour and skin colour, then, went off to hunt out some perfect dresses, earrings, those sort and shoes. Meanwhile, Ffion explained that Danique and Clea left home after an argument with their mum. They switched mobile numbers and stopped letting on where they were on 'Facebook'. In fact, they just stopped contact. The police searched for a while, then, gave up. It was all over the news, Ffion and her family's faces plastered on the papers. Finally, Clea and Danique were found here. Just then, they arrived with two dresses, two earrings, two necklaces and two pairs of shoes. Danique and Clea were also dressed beautifully; they were the fashion stars. The three sisters had peachy skin with red hair. Their lips were cherry-red and Ffion's eyes were emerald green, Clea and Danique's eyes were sapphire blue. Clea was dressed in a honey coloured tunic with black leggings and azure pumps. Danique was dressed in a hang-y silk, cream top with denim shorts. Her shoes were brown, low woven wedges. Totally different styles. For Ffion, she had a deep emerald green top that was matched with skinny blue, knee-length denim shorts. Brown peep-toe sandals were easily matched. I had the most gorgeous off-shoulder yellow top with turquoise shorts and sky-blue sandals. We went away, satisfied and now the beach girls have fashion goddesses to help them. Perfecto! No more Beach Girl-... series to come. This is the last one.

Jamie wobbled in the air. How long could he last with balancing? How would he explain to his mum about this? Jamie tried to move but he didn't know how to control his flying. Confused, he dived down to his bed. That seemed to do it! He dived, meaning it might work if he acted like he was swimming! Jamie paddled in the aroma-filled air and opened the door. Then, he dived down the stairs to face... "Aaaaaahhhhh!" his mum screamed; the bacon was left on the frying pan, frizzling away, as if wanting to get away from the hot pan. Jamie's mum fainted on the spot with a CRASH! Mr Supero, Jamie's dad who had a feeling this would happen since Jamie's birthday (in the morning 5:47 that very peculiar Sunday), came rushing downstairs. "Jamie. You have inherited your great, great, great, great, great, great-" "OK! I think I get it. I don't need to know exactly how many greats there are," Jamie interrupted, swimming towards his delicious breakfast and turning the fire off. "Such a shame the bacon's burnt. We're just going to have to make do with eggs then." Jamie continued, feeling delighted to have inherited a special power that made him fly. He attacked his food and then washed down the last bits with some orange juice. Contented, he flew back upstairs for a nap. Jamie dreamed. He dreamed he was on a mountain with two oldies. "Jamie. You have completed your mission. You have made your mum see the powerful powers in us-if she still remembers after her faint-and made your father, my great, great, great, great, great, great-" "OK! I think I get it. My mission was to let my mum know about YOUR powers?! Fine! I'm going to wake up." and with that, Jamie pinched himself and awoke with a bruise on his arm. At least that was evidence that that wasn't a dream. He really flew and scared his mum!

Beach Girls-Just two?

That very week was the last week of summer, at 31.2 degrees precisely. My birthday had passed for a week now and the peach jacket that Ffion gave me was starting to come in useful. She noticed that I often wore pink jackets so she bought me one for my birthday. The other presents were those 99p ones despite Jess and Amazon having loads of money! I slung my bag over my shoulder and shoved my new leather purse into it. Zipping up the comfortable peach-coloured jacket, I grabbed my 'Beach Girls Stuff' list of what we would need so that I could contribute on helping buy the things. The three of us(looks like it is actually four because of Jess) agreed to meet up at 'Ciao Bella!' to buy some fashion-y things, that is, we would meet up if we still wanted to be the Beach Girls... I was trembling with shock. Jess had gone off with Amazon and now Amazon and Jess didn't want to be the Beach Girls anymore. Ffion was crying, her mascara running and purple lipstick smudging. I brought her to the toilets and lent her my make up wipes. She wiped it off and then almost got set off again by me saying "You look, well, y-you know-". My first thought was to attempt telling her how she looked gorgeous in her way but I stopped myself. She probably just needed peace. I bought some more wipes and bought her a hot-chocolate to calm her. Then, home we went in silence. "Jess! How could you do this to her?!" I screamed down the phone. I could feel my hot breath bouncing back at me. The black phone was steaming up with the hotness in my angry breath. A sarcastic voice replied with a simple answer, "So?" and then sighed as if I did something stupid. I shook my head, not bothering to carry on my this horrible conversation with my EX friend. Slamming the phone down, I ran upstairs to have a lemon-flavoured salt water taffy. 'A taffy a day, keeps saddy away' I read, tearing off the wrapper and wondering if it was true. Then, I had a taffy-tastic idea... The next day, I popped into my grandma's shop called, 'Book and Taffy'. I bought two cherry-cordials and two taffies, the two cordials with the words m8s and 4eva on the wrapping and the two taffies each with one word of either beach or gals on the wrapping as well. I called Ffion out to the beach for a snack. A quick, sweet snack. I pulled on my jacket and looked out at the rain from the glass wall of my study room. I hoped Ffion would cheer up! The rain stopped as soon as Ffion came. I offered her taffy and told her to check the wrapper. In sparkly gel pen the word gals shone at her. I took out my wrapper and in a glitter gel pen the word beach shone out. We put the taffies together and made the words 'Beach Gals'. We tore off the wrapper and left it in the basket then we snacked on the cherry-cordials. The wrapper she got said 4eva and mine said m8s the, again, we put them together to make 'm8s 4eva'. We threw the wrappers behind us as a symbol of 'it's done now' and laughed at a joke. From Gloomy Sunday to Delightful Monday. Prologue Behind the two laughing girls, Jessica Samantia and Amazon Gazilliona stood. The wrappers flew into their hands and they read it. With only two of each one, they both knew, not needing to talk, that Ffion Zanyfyk and Jennifer Beachae were over with them. Feeling a pang of guilt, they walked their separate ways, knowing the Beach Girls would be safe with just Ffion and Jennifer. This is not the end! Look out for the other books!

Royal Albert Hall

Dear Diary, On the 22nd of April 2013, I went to the Royal Albert Hall! My whole year group(year 5) participated in a choir with other schools to sing in a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I was supposed to go with them but I realised that the string orchestra I was in was supposed to play our own song called Battalia a10 composed by Biber and Proud accompanied with the choir singing along. I felt so proud! I had to get there earlier than my school because I went separately with the string orchestra. We gathered at Chaucer Centre with our instruments and lunch with snacks and when everyone was there, Debra(a main leader of the string orchestra) led us to where our coach was waiting. It was really a secondary school bus but it was awesome! The four double basses and some bigger cellos were put into the back of the bus while some smaller cellos, medium-sized cellos and violins were kept with their owners, US! The coach was epic, it was like a plane because there were lights and that sort on the ceiling and seat belts with a small tray with a hole to put a cup that unfolds from the back of the chair in front of you. The journey took ages! When we got there, we walked in from entrance 3 and walked through corridors. I thought we'd never reach dressing room 8, our own dressing room. As soon as we got in, we placed our instruments on some racks and found a space to sit and put our lunches. We were already dressed so we just sat and chatted, eating some tiny snacks. We had a quick rehearsal in the actual hall on the actual stage! Then, we played Proud with the brass, woodwind and percussion orchestra. We went back, chatted, ate a few more snacks and tuned our instruments again to be ready. It seemed an age until we met with the choir to rehearse. After that, we had our lunch and, finally, we got to the time. There was chatter everywhere as we tuned again and practised a few scales to warm up. It was all dark when we went out to do the actual evening performance. I was scared, nervous, excited, can't-believe-it, happy, proud and a whole other mixture of feelings. When we finished, Ed, another string leader took us back to our dressing room to change tops. Then, he took me up loads of stairs and through loads of corridors back to my school part, who were located in sort of watching seats but right next to the stage. The next hour and a bit whizzed past and soon, I was in bed, sleeping.

"To be a photographer, you've got to 'Make it Snappy!" Clare, the coach, shouted as she eyed all the photographers up and down. Willa-Heart felt her heart beat extremely quickly. Passing the test would be hard with a coach like this. She stroked her red camera and instantly felt calmed. The sea breeze blew at her face, making her squeeze her eyes tight. "You, young lady. Eyes open! You can come first." a voice shouted from above. Willa opened her eyes anxiously and followed Clare. 'This is going to be a long exam.' she thought. Supper was silent without Willa chatting. Willa had run upstairs the minute she came in and insisted she wasn't hungry. Eventually, Rosie, who was the best cook/baker in the world, muttered something about going to check on Willa. Rosie hurried upstairs, face creasing into a frown every second. She opened the door slowly and there was Willa, glugging down hot cocoa with sticky, sweet marshmallow cream on top. Her red camera was lying on her bed, a single teardrop on top. Rosie sat down and reached in her pocket for a cream and nutmeg pie and gave it to Willa. Willa took the pie and scoffed it down, choking on the last bite. Rosie tucked Willa in after Willa had finished her drink. Things had not gone well... The next morning, Willa gladly allowed Rosie into her room, while forcing down the blueberry muffin. Rosie pushed and pushed until she finally pushed out the problem. "ClarethinksthatmeandmyenemySarahareboth-" "Whoa! Slow down! So, who is Clare?" Rosie cut in, confused into drinking the water that was meant for Willa. Willa explained very slowly that she and Sarah, her enemy, were fighting for the last place in the photography exam. Willa was sure Clare would choose Sarah and Willa didn't know what to do. Rosie smiled, glad that it was just a small problem. "So," she said "What is the main weak point you both share?...". On Friday, the day Sarah and Willa were going to take the exam again, Willa was prepared to beat Sarah. She gave Clare a cream and nutmeg pie and some cocoa to drink while examining them. Sarah gave Clare a burnt looking sausage and grinned smugly at Willa. The exam began... . Sarah went first, but she fiddled around until she found the right buttons and the OK place, then she snapped. Next went Willa, who adjusted the PERFECT place and got the right buttons in a split second! She snapped... That Sunday, the results were up. Willa scanned the board near the button and didn't find Sarah but found HERSELF! Clare walked out to the delighted face of Willa and the annoyed face of Sarah and said, "To be a photographer,", "You've got to Make it Snappy!" .
