1887 born in a Jewish family. They’re very poor and his dad has to work very hard to keep body and soul together.
The first time he drew, is when he saw the picture from his classmate,then he is in love with it. He began to ask his mother to take him to an artist’s studio. The artist thinks he’s gifted,so led him to learn there.
Drawing type:Fantastic art similar to surrealism,and it mixture Cubism and imagination influenced by childhood memories,folklore(民間傳說）and country lifedream like quality.
1941年第二次世界大戰期間，納粹殘殺迫害猶 太人，夏卡爾曾被捕，獲得營救後流亡美國， 直到1948年再重返法國。
During the World War 2 .In 1941, the Nazis murdered and persecuted Jews. Chagall was arrested and rescued and fled into exile in the United States. He returned to France in 1948.
野獸派
大膽使用強烈對比的色彩，畫面較缺乏遠近空間感，脫離了模仿自然，強調主觀自我的創作。
Fauvism. Bold use of strong contrasting colors, the picture lacks a sense of space, away from imitation of nature, emphasizing the creation of subjective self.
立體派
創始人是畢卡索和布拉克，繪畫突破模仿自然，把描繪的對象分解、變形再重新組合一起，造成一種奇異的破鏡效果。
Cubism
The founders are Picasso and other painters .The painting breaks through and imitates nature, decomposing, deforming and recombining the depicted objects, creating a strange mirror-breaking effect.
超現實主義
將夢的世界、心靈與潛意識自由抒發出來，作品中常將不相干的事物並列在一起，畫面充滿了奇幻、詭異、夢境般的情景，構成一個超越現實的幻象。
Surrealism
The dream world, mind, and subconscious are expressed freely, and irrelevant things are often juxtaposed in the works. The pictures are full of fantasy, weird, and dream-like scenes, forming an illusion=deception 幻覺that transcends reality.
「婚禮」（1909年）也是他早期的作品，畫的是猶太人的婚禮，前面也是有一個拉小提琴的。這兩幅畫還看不出夏卡爾後來那種鮮豔的顏色，綺麗的夢想，但已經隱隱約約的看到他對自己故鄉的無法忘情。
「婚禮」是夏卡爾第一次到巴黎遊歷前所 畫的，雖然描繪的主題是展現幸福的婚禮，不過由於受到當時俄國 藝術風氣的影響，再加上夏卡 爾一直有著無法到巴黎看看的沮喪， 所以這段時間他經常會以大量的棕色作為基底，不論是房屋、路面 或是對於人們的描繪，整個畫面都籠罩在暗沉的色調之中，就 連遠 處的天空都彷彿蒙上厚厚的塵土一樣，有著凝重的氣氛，只有新娘 的一襲白紗成為這個作品最明顯的焦點。
