Hi~ 小寶真是可愛

Our whole family except our cat, Simba, walked to Hirsch and turned in the application a little after 1:30pm. Hope Catherine is lucky enough to get accepted by lottery.
Last week, I totally forgot about the piano class. So we missed one class. It was very nice of Ms. Lydia giving us credit for the class we missed. Didn't expect that really because it was my fault. I've been getting very absent-minded......... Catherine couldn't focus today. I am determined that she has to always take nap before piano and ice skating lessons.
Celebrating Catherine's birthday in class. I brought donut holes instead of cupcakes. Couldn't find smaller cupcakes, and don't like to see cupcakes wasted ( the kids often just have a few bites and then throw away). I really like this preschool. Teacher Eileen and Nacy are great teachers and they selected lots of very good educational toys for the kids. They do discipline students when they they need to , but in ways that are not offensive or personal. If Catherine can enroll in Weibel's afternoon Kindergarten, then Serena will be able to continue her preschool at Siliman Center. Hope everything will work out smoothly.
Picked up application today. Can select up to four schools. I selected only one - Weibel. Since the lottery will be held privately at the district, I feel putting more selections may be a disadventage. Olice also picked up the application at Forest Park, and she said lots applications are picked up over there for lottery. Oh my! I wonder how many people are doing the lottery for Weibel. Wish Catherine luck!

This is our first time visit to Legoland. The lego sturctures that they built inside the park are very impressive. The rides are mostly mild. Except the first ride, ride waiting time is much shorter than in Disneyland. It is a big park, and we also weren't able get to many of the rides and attractions. I wish we have a park like that in Fremont, so I can take the girls there every week.
It was very crowded at the Theme Park today. I guess because of Spring break + it was Friday. Most of the lines were very long, so we didn't go to many of the attractions. We first stopped by City Hall to get a birthday botton for Catherine. People stopped by and said happy birthday to her. Before, the parade starts, there were performmer came and singed for Catherine. Catherine was feeling very special today. The girls were too tired after walking all day in the park, so the girls and I didn't go back to the park for Fantasmic and Firework after dinner. Serena was falling asleep while eating pork chop on the dinning table.
The weather in Anaheim is perfect. We missed the 9:00am shuttle, so we were in Disney Adventure park about 10:30am. We started off with Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. Then we went to the Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular. It was very good show, and I was so impressed with the magic carpet that flying above the audience. The next ride was pretty scary one - The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and I can't believe Catherine was dare to get on that ride. We aslo went to -It's Tough to be a Bug -Flik's Flyers -Francis' Ladybug Boogie -Sun Wheel -Golden Zephyr -King Triton's Carousel -Jumpin Jellyfish -Pixar Plaly Parade
Driving to Anaheim
We arrived at TECO San Fracisco a little after 3:30pm. There are a few more forms need to be filled out before they can accept and process the girls passport applications. I was expecting this, so no disppointment or hard feeling. I need to go again next Saturday, but in Mountain View instead of SF. On the way back we stopped by Ikea and the girls played in Smartland for 45 minutes. I had my coffee and apple pie at the Ikea restaurant while they were playing. It was nice and relaxing. I think I really need some break from them each day. Even 45 minutes makes me feel refreshed and relaxed. Found this BabyHome Mommy's notes on how to apply Taiwan Passport. http://www.babyhome.com.tw/calendar/0,o1de,mid141751,cid111777446.htm
Except Serena, everyone in our family has allergy. Catherine had10:15am appointment, and mommy had 11:30 appointment. The Dr. prescribed Allegro for my allergy, but our insurance doesn't cover Allegro. It will cost $70 for that drug. Will need to call insurance company to discuss this. Maybe I will ask the doctor to prescribe Zyertec instead.
This week is spring break. We invited Iris, Mitchell, and Sophia to our house for a playdate. Iris' brother was here too. He is so adorable. Sophia is very pretty girl, just like mom.

Fremont Unified School district posted the 2008-2009 Open Enrollment lottery info on http://www.fremont.k12.ca.us/prg/OpenEnrollmentLottery2008-09.pdf
Thanks Helen for letting me know that Weibel's kindergaten was not filled this year. That is really a great news for us. I was at Hirsch this morning to ask about open enrollment lottery. It happend that they will receive a list of schools that have openings. They asked me to call at 2:30pm. If I remember it right, they told me the following schools have openings for kindergarten, Weibeil Cabrillo Brookvale Azevada Mattos Green Durham Vallejo Really wish Catherine could go to Weibel. The Hirsch school told me that they are hoping to continue getting registration applications, and open a third class just like used to be. That will provide us another alternative if we didn't win the lottery, but it really depends on the numbers of new applicants by September.
Madeline is turning 4. Dah! I forgot my camera again. Catherine and Serena had so much fun over there. As they grow older, they seem to interact with other kids differently. A beautiful cake with four Disney princess decorations on top. Madeline get to decide if she wants to share her pricesses. As a result, she kept two, and gave two to her sister, Miranda. Then, Miranda gave Mermaid to Catherine. Catherine was in disablieve and asked a few times, " Are you really giving this to me? and Miranda went " Yah!" That really made her day, and she was so happy the whole day. Catherine even made a friend, Mellie, there. I overheard their conversation, I thought it was very cute. Wow! Karen and Ron spent $40,000 to remodle their kitchen, downstair restroom, and part of the living room tile. It turns out very nice.
Ms. Granger found out my problem - having trouble reading notes while playing. I usually read the notes first, then gradually memorize them and play the music without reading the notes. When she wanted me to start from where I made a mistake in Jerico, I couldn't do it. It is like either I have to play from the begining or I can't do it. Ms. Granger suggests me to buy some pop music books from the music store and practice reading notes. Sure, I certainly need to overcome this problem.
Yes! the dentist said "no cavity and the teeth are nice and white". With Catherine having cavities between her teeth in the back, I should be more careful with prevention on Serena's teeth.
Catherine has been practing new technics in this session. However, she seems to have hard time coordinate her head, arm, and body on breathing to side when from crawl. She also have difficulty with swim on back.
Went to Bed Bath & beyond to to look for kitchen floor mat. Didn't see anything I like, but found this cardboard lemonade playhouse on sale at 50% off. I thought this would be a great afternoon project for the girls. After they finished coloring it (by their definition), they keep asking me to make lemonade. We have very good lemons from our lemon tree, so I went online and found a really simple recipe. The lemonade taste very good. I didn't know making lemonade was this easy. 1 cup lemon juice 6 cups of water 1 cup of sugper serve with ice
Kindergarten teachers and many parents from Hirsch, Leitch, Weibel, Green, and Grimmer were in this meeting. The teachers gave parents an idea of what to expect in kindergarten and how to prepare little ones ready for kindergarten. Among all the teachers, I personally like Hirsch's two kindergarten teachers the most. The teachers from Green and Grimmer don't seems very loving and caring. I really wish Catherine will be able to go to Hirsch in Fall, or at least not be sent to Grimmer nor Green.
Teacher Eileen let Catherine and Lauren pick games or songs they like at circle time. Both girls pick games. Catherine picked a game that she hides a sticker of a rabbit with easter eggs in one of many doors, and she gets to pick classmates to guess behind which door the sticker was hidden. Each time, it took her a few seconds to think before calling out names. I guess those who she called are classmates she feels more comfortable with. They are David, Even, Calvin, Glorieanna, Lael, Lauren, Ellie, Nikoo,Gigi,Mia, Kyle, and Noah.
11:30am
When I called at noon, I was told the lottery was done at 10:00am and Catherine is #45. That says she is overloading student. The first 22 are siblings of current students, and that left only 18 openings. I totally don't think the lottery was done fairly. First, they didn't inform all the parents, so I didn't even know the lottery was going to be held today. Second, it looks more like they arrange the list by last name rather than lottery. Out of 28 elementary schools in Fremont Unified School district, Hirsch is 19th by API score (only 801), and I don't think I want Catherine to be overloaded to school worse than that. If it doesn't work out, I should probably consider Montessori school's Kindergarten program instead. Maybe it is mean to be. Maybe it is a message for me to start looking for alternative.
Appointment with Patricia for Tax Return filing
Yes, It will be lottery this year. Need to call tomorrow morning to find out how and when the lottery will be done.
Serena and I went to Hirsch Elementary School after Dropping off Catherine at her class. After the School administrator checked all the documents, she told me there is possiblilty of lottery because 50 registration packets were picked up and there are only 40 spaces available (two K classes). If more than 40 registrations are done today, then most likely we need to do lottery. Need to call tomorrow morning to find out.
