October 3rd Grade Newsletter
Math:
Multiplication and division problems and how to correctly write the notation for each.
Accelerated Math every Tuesday, reviewing basic skill (borrowing, carrying, telling time and counting with money)
Cheese program on every Wednesday.
Reading & Writing:
Paragraphs! Topic sentences, details, examples, and conclusion sentences, punctuation and using a dictionary on writing time.
Discuss with kid what reading group they are part of and what they are working on.
Science:
crayfish and plants. Sprouting seeds in water and observing what will happen. Tell male crayfish and female.
Learn vocabulary words such as cotyledon, embryo, and germination.
Others:
Oct. 17, field trip to Farm in Snohomish.
Oct. 30, Harvest party.
Oct. 31, no school.
