Bill's speech article

Dragons

Hello everyone, I'm Bill from 4A1. Today I will read my speech about dragons. I will focus on the similarities between dragans and dinosaurs. Please listen carefully to my speech and applaud loudly when I finish.

As everyone knows, dragons look a lot like dinosaurs but dinosaurs can't breathe fire or water. They are both thought to have had scaly skin, sharp claws and teeth as well as reaching enormous dimensions. However, do not think the dinosaurs were the same as dragans. They were not even from the same family!

When archeologists found the first dinosaur bones, they thought they belonged to dragons. After finding fossils of various shapes and sizes, those scientists realized that they were dealing with a much wider range of animals. Now, we know that the dinosaurs actually existed and that there is basically no evidence that dragons once lived on Earth.

The invention of the symbolic figure that is the dragon was probably a way for the people who first found dinosaur fossils to explain a phenomenon that was beyond them. Or maybe the mother's of earlier years made it up to scare their children. No one really knows.

My speech is now coming to an end I hope you enjoyed it. If dragons interest you, you should try to learn even more about them. The time has come for me to say goodbye so put your hands together and make some noise.
