Fastelavn ( Danish carnival celebration with costumes for the day)
Dear students and parents in P1 – P5
It is Fastelavn!
On Friday 9th February we’ll be celebrating the Scandinavian tradition of ‘Fastelavn’. The day will begin with morning assembly for everyone at 08.10 in the Henriette Hall, where everyone in fancy dress will do the catwalk. Family members are welcome to come along to enjoy the spectacular show of costumes on display by teachers and students.
After morning assembly and catwalk we will organise the children into smaller groups to whack the barrel – crowning a cat queen and cat king for each class. The day will continue with songs, stories and activities.
The afterschool programme will be open from 13.05. Please remember to bring warm clothing for outside play.
