Your Role:

If there is one word to describe why our LiDAR technology is superior to all other LiDARs out there, it would be “MEMS”. MEMS is the heart of our powerful LiDAR beam-scanning unit, which deflects the laser beam to obtain the desired broad field of view. As Senior MEMS Development Engineer (m/f), you are part of our MEMS Team and take care of the development according to requirements regarding robustness and performance. The major challenge here is to never lose the focus on the mass producibility by external partners. With you and your expertise, we will master the great challenge to mass-produce high resolution and affordable LiDAR sensors and thus pave the way towards autonomous driving!

Responsibilities:

Develop the next generation of our MEMS components, including the development and application of new processes and technologies in the MEMS field
Take care of the automotive qualification of our MEMS components and bring them to the maturity phase
Be responsible for the integration of our MEMS components into the overall product and therefore work closely with our optic-, electronic- and software teams
Develop testing methods to characterize our MEMS components
Support us to maintain our technological lead continuously by enhancing inventions and patents

Requirements:

You have 5 years of professional MEMS working experience in addition to your PhD
You have a PhD in MEMS, physics, or electrical engineering
A minimum of 5 years designing MEMS, FEM modelling and layouting of your masks
You have solid software skills including Mathematica, Matlab, Python, JMP, Cadence or equivalent tools
You have a good knowledge of MEMS processing and manufacturing
Experience in automotive qualification of MEMS components and in functional safety are a plus
You are familiar with DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, control plan, GR&R, DOE, and general problem solving skills
You have very good communication skills in English (verbal, written)

Please send a short letter of motivation, your certificates and your CV (English or German).

DFMEA: Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)

PFMEA: Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) is a structured analytical tool

SPC: Statistical process control (SPC) is a method of quality control which employs statistical methods to monitor and control a process

Gage R&R: GR&R which stands for gage repeatability and reproducibility, is a statistical tool that measures the amount of variation in the measurement system arising from the measurement device and the people taking the measurement.
