一樣是透過"寄生草莓"媽咪的大力推薦~
本人又忍不住手癢在博客來寄了這本號稱"成人式"幽默的繪本
這本書在台灣區缺貨~光是等貨就等了快要一個星期哩~
不過哩~現在總算收到書囉~
一拿到書(hardcover的唷!)媽咪跟阿舅就搶著看哩~
晚上唸給杰宏聽時~這小子被嚇得一愣一愣的~
效果十足~(不過也不至於完全聽不懂啦~)
寄生草莓媽咪介紹的可能是單行本~不過好狗運的媽咪
這會兒居然買上了四合一的精裝本哩~^^
也就是說總共有四種不同的人物在裡頭唷~
"The Teacher from the Black
Lagoon" (主角身份為導師)by 寄生草莓
"The Gym Teacher from the Black Lagoon"(體育老師)
"The Principal from the Black Lagoon" (校長)
"The Librarian from the Black Lagoon" (圖書館管理員)
礙於日記版面~我就只為各位介紹Gym Teacher這部份囉~
We're getting a new gym teacher this year.
He's coming over from the Junior High.
His nameis Mr.Green!
The kids say he's big,
he's mean,and he's rarely seen.
They say he's very hairy,
and his knuckles touch the ground.
His nickname is COACH KONG and no
one has actually heard him speak any words.
誠如寄生草莓所言~這是一本很道地~
包含許許多多口語~雙關語的故事
(像是mean這個字,
熊熊一看會以為是"意圖.意思"的意思~例:I mean business(我是當真的)
疏不知mean的意義有很多種~
像是脾氣暴躁的,難駕馭的.卑鄙的..等等的負面形容~
不過在美國的俚語裡卻有著"出色的.很棒的"的意思哩~
所以囉~故事一開頭就是一個天大的誤會囉~)
He just blows his whistle a lot.
They say he has a little office full of balls and clubs and tires.
當我發現這本書的表達方式是未來式還有現在式.三單時~是多麼的驚喜呀!
跟一般以過去式描述的方法大不相同呢~
而且我們還可從作者為老師的命名"Mr.Green"中可以發覺到
西方人對怪物啦~怪獸啦~總有一身綠皮膚的偏見哩!
**club:球棒.棒子.當然也有俱樂部.夜總會的意思啦~ The big kids say he makes you run a lot.
frist a lap around the gym.
Then a lap around the school.
Then a lap around the world!
哈哈~~誇張到破錶了吧~
最好是繞著地球跑啦~~
*lap:來回跑一圈~也有膝下的意思~像是筆記型電影又稱laptop(膝上型電腦) Then he gives you fitness tests.(最好是合適的測試^^")
You have to lift his pickup truck over you head before
the semester ends.
I guess that's why they call it a "pickup"truck.
*pickup truck:小貨車~這句話有一語雙關的意味 You spend a lot of time getting in shape.
He makes you do push-ups,pull-ups,chin-ups,and sit-ups.
But most of the kids just do throw-ups.
沒錯~若是要我做這些運動~我一定馬上give-up!
Then you have to climb THE ROPE.
If you don't reach the top,he sets the bottom on fire!
They say there are still kids up in the ceiling
of the Junior High gym.
其實這些恐怖的教學方式~純粹是主角的想像再加上危言聳聽啦~
孩子總是喜歡預設立場~在事情尚未撥雲見日前~
天馬行空~嚇嚇自己也嚇嚇別人~
If you don't pass the fitness tests,
your boby is donated to science.
若是你無法通過測驗~你的身體會捐贈給自然科學~(當然是做實驗囉!)
Then there's the posture test.
If you don't pass that,he ties you between two boards.
ㄜ~這也太殘酷了吧~
杰宏對這一幕反應很大~我想可能是跟之前把他關在廁所裡處罰有關吧?
But there are games,too.
He makes you play DODGE ball..with his truck!
嗯~~用貨車來玩躲避球嗎?
這個主意很讚唷!
and TAG with Crazy Glue..
and baseball with real bats!
這種遊戲方式實在是太可怕了~跟蝙蝠玩棒球?虧他想得出來捏!
Then there's THE PARACHUTE!
He has us all hold on tight to the side and jump out of
an airplane.
孩子們~體育老師也是斥資重大的呢~
He's also big on gymnastics.
He makes you "the beam"
and jump over "the horse"!
Yes~~is a real horse!!
He makes you do HANDSTANDS(倒立)HEADSTANDS(用頭倒立)
NOSE STANDS(鼻子倒立)and
MUSIC STANDS(甚至站在琴架上)
He makes you do SOMERSAULTS(翻筋斗)and CRATWHEELS.
這是太陽馬戲團的表演現場嗎?
But the worst thing is SQUARE DANCNG...
with the girls!
oh,oh! There's his whistle!
I better go line up.
"Hi,kids.I'm Mr.Green, your ner gym teacher."
看到這一頁時~杰宏居然長噓了一口氣~是怎樣?
知道老師不是外星人變的後~讓他大爺不再那麼害怕了
I can't believe it!
He's a regular guy!
"Let's play some basketball." says Mr.Green.
We do,and I score two baskets.
This is great!
I'm going to like gym.
總算有一個合理且圓滿的結局了~
最後還是鼓勵孩子去上學的呢~
這本書裡的另外三個故事大綱也是大同小異
只是老師邪惡的方式不同~笑果也不同~
往後有機會~再分享另外的故事吧 ^^
