Thank you so much to all families for supporting us last term with all of our activities. The children benefited greatly from all of your support.
Now the weather is getting warmer, please could you encourage your child to bring in a hat and also a water bottle so that they remain well hydrated during the day.
Our school librarians are in school until 4:30pm on a Monday and Tuesday. If, as parents, you would like to borrow books you can set up afamily account.
TERM 3 ECA/BISCAP/BISS Lions Swimming: Programmes will begin on Monday 17 April and run until Friday 16June 2017. Confirmation letters will be sent out during the first week back.
LITERACY
We will be exploring the genre of information texts in Literacy. We will look at creating instructions for a range of different acticities, culminating in the design for a time machine! We will use this writing an opportunity to further our understanding of imperitive verbs.

MATHS
For our first week back we will be looking at negative numbers. This will involve adding and subtracting negative numbers and looking at problems using them in context, particularly with regard to temperature. We will finish the week with an investigation building number pyramids using negative numbers to reach a target.

THEMED LEARNING
As this is our final week before camp, the children will be undertaking range of activities to prepare them. We will look at what equipment to pack, what makes a good team member and how to support one another. We will make sure all the children are ready for this exciting experience.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING AND DIGITAL LITERACY
This week the children will use a new touch typing program and will continue to learn the coding language ‘Python’.

PSHCE
In PSHCE this week we will focus further on fostering new relationships, creating rules and expectations for the group and how to work together successfully. We will reflect on what we achieved last term and discuss new personal targets for the term ahead. We have welcomed some new children to Year 6 and will discuss how we can continue to be helpful in settling them into their new school.
