Amelia finished off her history homework and sat down. She read a book called 'Here comes Football!' which was the 5th book on chapter 4. Amelia was a very tomboy girl! She was very sensible and her zodiac star sign was a Aquarius, only, she didn't understand why she was the teeniest bit Virgo in class? She had a best friend called Luly. Luly was a normal girl, although she often remembered wonderful things and was very determined to do things! Still, she was never determined on school work!
Meanwhile, Luly chewed her lolli-bubble-pop, that was delicious. She loved chocolate lolli-bubble-pop and mint bubble gum! Nothing else. She opened her history book and patted/blew of some dust, smoothened the crumpled pages, brushed of some sweet smelling cookie crumbs and picked off some bubble gum. When Luly finished the lolli-bubble-pop, she popped a G-sweet in her mouth, it fell out, she picked it up from her hand and began to suck it. She was often clumsy!
Suddenly, when she had nearly finished her work, her dad asked if she wanted to go to Abbey Mills with Amelia. "YES! YES! Supercalifragili-
sticexpialidoucious!" They walked (Luly skipped) all the way to Amelia's house!
Ding dong! Amelia was in the middle of chapter 5, nearly on chapter 6. She walked slowly towards the door, listening out for she and Luly's secret knocking-door code. Knock...knockknock knock knock! Amelia added pace in her steps and practically skipped to the door. When she opened it, Luly and her pounced on each other happily and playfully! "Can you come to Abbey Mills with me and my dad? We"ll pick you up at round about 5, I'm afraid we might not be able to get you home on 5 o'clock sharp!"
"Awwwww! Don't be scared." Amelia acted. They laughed together happily, skipping to Abbey Mills when their parents agreed!
At Abbey Mills, they got separated from Luly's mum. Luly, Amelia and Luly's dad all walked to the stall that sells small boxes that has a lock so you can keep precious things inside. Luly chose a blue one with a silver swirl in the middle, Amelia chose a blue one with a cheeky looking cute fox on it(her favorite animal were foxes)! Luly's dad chose a plain gray one. As soon as they paid for it each with their own pocket money(Luly's dad with his money), Luly led way to the mill.
Amelia hurried after Luly while Luly's dad, Jim/Mr Davis ran after the two girls. At the mill, they each had a go at making clay pots, then they went to see the big mill in the water! At the end, Mr Davis insisted that he buy a stained glass dragonfly for Amelia and a stained glass butter fly for Luly! They asked why but he just smiled mysteriously! They had a look around the shops for Mrs Davis but just couldn't find her!
Finally, they hurried back to drop Amelia off back to her house. When they got there, her mum was just washing! They peeked through the window and saw Mrs Greer hurriedly rinsing the plate, drying her hands, then bustling out the kitchen to open the door.
"Oh my dear dragonfly! Oh, and hello butterfly!" Mrs Greer greeted them and welcomed them happily. "Luly butterfly, your mum came to tell me that she lost you! Oh and she came in for a cup of coffee, that's when she told me that every girl is a flying animal. There are three to be! Butterfly, dragonfly and honey bee! You, my darling Milly(Amelia), is a dragonfly, and you Luly dear, is a butterfly!"
The two girls passed a glance to each other, then to Mr Davis, next Mrs Greer and finally, back to each other. "So that's what this was about!". They held up the beautiful stained glass flat models, and high-fived each other with their free hand, understandingly.
That evening, just after dinner, Amelia was sitting quietly and peacefully, sipping frothy hot chocolate slowly and thinking carefully about what happened that day happily! Little did she know, Luly was doing the exact thing, except at ｈｅｒ house!
