It was 38 degrees precisely when I realised I was late. My friends were waiting at the beach, all prepared for our usual gossip. I jumped off my wheelie chair and pulled my hair into a messy bun. My wavy brown hair looked like a volcano that had been frozen as it burst. I pulled on my shorts and a pale pink jacket then ran off with my iPod in one hand and my sun-shaped shoulder bag nicely on me.
"Hey Jen! Late entrance, hey?" my best friend, Jessica (I call her Jess) exclaimed, pulling me into a BFF hug. I hugged her back, then lay down on the towel. My volcano hair was spread on the sand. The warm sun shone down on my legs. I kicked off my high tops and dug my toes into the sand. Jess rolled her eyes and texted something on her mobile. I listened to my iPod and music flew into my ears. Jess said something but I didn't hear. She pointed to her red blackberry and mouthed something. I unzipped my bag and rummaged about for my iPhone 3 and read the text. It said, 'Beach Girl, beach babe! U really fit in!' and I replied with three words, 'Beach Gal 4ever!'. Jess waved a sun-creamed hand and walked off. I had absolutely NO idea what I had done wrong.
Still sunbathing, I saw a girl with blonde, frizzy hair chatting to another girl. I seemed to have borrowed some bravery from Jess and I walked over to them. The blonde-haired girl glared at me and demanded "What are you doing? Can't you see we're have a best friends talk?" . I felt myself blushing furiously and I said, "It's just that my friend who used to be my best friend left me just because she thinks I fit into the beach to much. I was wondering.." I began when the girl who glared at me smiled! "Oh yes! Sure sure! I'm Amazon but you can call me Zonnie as that's what Ffion calls me. This girl here's Ffion. We make the Beach Girls and it's only going to be us three." she interrupted. Such a mood changer! I smiled at Ffion and slipped my hands into Ffion and Zonnie's then pulled them into the sea for a paddle.
The Beach Girls, just us three. My name is Jennifer Beachae and I belong by the beach. My house is just around the corner and I will stay here forever.
