Beach Girls- A little bit of sweetness (M)

That very Saturday morning, it was precisely 32 degrees. It's always been hot this summer and I'm glad we've got a month or so still of this hotness. My head was rested on a pile of pink and blue sweet wrappers. I sucked another sweet then, bored, added the wrapper to my pile. Annoyed, I swept the pile off the table and into the bin. I always eat sweet things when I'm annoyed, frustrated, upset or angry. Mum wouldn't let me go to the beach because of the birthday party (mine) which was 2 hours away. She told me I had to either tidy my room to pass the time or do nothing. You can guess my choice.

Lunch was silent. I still had another hour to wait with my stomach full of cauliflower cheese! I prodded my lunch and every so often, forked a piece of cheesy cauliflower and lifted the unappetizing lunch to my mouth and chewed it. I checked my mobile for any texts from Ffion, Zonnie and Jess(she said she hadn't dumped me! Unlikely!). There was one from Ffrench Ffion(that's what she's called on the texting) saying 'Beach Gals, m8s 4ever!'. I smiled as I read her text then saw one from American Amazon (that's what Zonnie's called) saying, 'Can't wait, can u? How r u coping?'. I ran upstairs and fell on the bed, sending a text message as I did, 'Can't cope. Can u? Have a doze. Zzzzzzzzz...'. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

Out at the beach for my party, Jess has been giggling around Zonnie and ignoring me. Ffion has gotten to the bottom. "It's always like that," she whispered in her soft French accent "She didn't tell you but I'm not her true friend. Miss Gazillona, that is Amazon, is famous. I'm surprised you don't recognise her. She bought me, she bought me to be her friend!". I was entranced! So Zonnie was Amazon Gazillona! I pulled Ffion towards Sweet Sweet and smiled. As I entered the shop of sweet things, I asked for a Twin Ice-Cream on Chocolate. Ffion smiled and said, "I would like a Marshy Cream at Lunar Landing please." . Shocked, I stared at Ffion. She texted, 'I have been here. M8s 4ever!'.

We had our sweetness and it calmed our confusion.
