Preschool back in session -Serena
Daddy went to China Embassy to apply for visa, so Mommy took the girls to Japan Town cross street.
We planned to go to Soda Springs again today, but the girls were homesick and didn't want to go. Therefore, we came to straight home from Reno.
Virginia City was built in l800's when the mountains around it were found to conceal great wealth, lots gold and silver. It takes about 30 minutes to drive there from Circus Circus Reno. It is hard to imagine how they build a city in the middle of so many tall mountains without today's transportation and technology. I guess people will do and able to do anything for wealth. :) The road around the mountains is very winding, and I kept telling Ren to slow donw and don't look at any thing but the road ahead. Many bulidings are still in their original look along C street and people in the stores are still wearing the 1800's clothes. It has now become a historic landmark and a tourist attraction in Nevada. Ren bought a bottle of beer from a store called Bucket of Blood Saloon, one of the few of the hundred and ten that remain from the silver rush in 1800's . The girls did care much about seeing the historic landmark, so we went back to Circus Circus after a short visit.
Northstar is a really nice ski resort. They have everything there, starbucks, stores, restaurants, lodging, child care, many ski trails.........and some are expensive too. We had hot dogs for lunch. and guess how much each hot dog costs? $7. We were going to sign Catherine up for a lesson, but they were all full. I guess we should register online before going next time. Instead, the girls played with snow and skated in the outdoor rink. I was surprised that Serena wasn't scared of ice skating anymore, and she was actually making progress. We left about three and headed for Circus Circus in Reno. The girls had great time at Circus Circus Midway watching their Daddy win stuff animals for them. Daddy is getting pretty good at some of the games.
We took off around 4:30 in the morning. Had breakfast at MacDonald on the way, and arrived Soda Springs at around 9:00am. The girls had fun at the little kids area (Planet Snow Kids) where they offer a Tube Carousel and Moving Carpet and ski/snowboard equipment all for just $15. We wrapped up our day at Soda Springs a little over two o'clock, and checked in to the motel. http://www.skisodasprings.com/index.html

Rebates sent this morning. Can check on line after 8 weeks. It was too cold this morning, and the girls were still sleeping. So I didn't send Serena to preschool today.
Ms. Grace asked parents to joint at 2:45pm at the TinyTot class room.
Catherine and Serena were a little intimidated by the snow queen and the Santa Claus at first, but they got warmed up and enjoyed the party in no time. They were so happy with all the gifts Santa gave to them, and were also helping the Elf with the BINGO game. Daddy and I have never played Bingo before. It took us a while to know a little about the game, Daddy finally figure out how to play and won a prize of $35 ikea gift card, Mommy finally figure out how to play when all the prizes were gone. :( After the party is over, Serena asked me " Can I come again tomorrow?". ********************************************************************* Event: Holiday Party – December 10, 2007 Time: 6:00pm – 9:30pm Location: Arrillaga Alumni Center - McCaw Hall and Lounge 325 Galvez Street, Stanford, CA 94305 Parking: Parking is available along the side of Galvez Street. It was fun for the adult and kids. Our favorite songs are Malti, Down in the Valley, All around the kitchen, Hello, hello, hello, and a few other. Dan Zanes & Friends will be in SF in March next year.
We thought most people will be going shopping after Thanksgiving and less people in aquarium. We were wrong, it was so crowded in the aquarium today. The girls had fun watching the jellyfish and the fish in the giant fish tank. We applied for membership, so we will go again soon.

The recital was 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Catherine was the 14th student to play her two pieces, Firefly and Janck and the Beanstalk. To my surprise, she was not nervous and she played both songs with confidence. Toward the end, she made a little mistake, but she continued on without any hesitation so the mistake wasn't very noticeable. She tried her best, and we all very proud of her. There are many oustanding students who play so well, espeically the last one. He was probably only one or two years older than Catherine, but he play so incredible well. I have to ask Ms. Lydia about this little boy. We all thought he is very amazing. I guess that is also the reason why he was the last one to play.
Newark Community Registration for No-resident begins
Catherine is sick today
You'll be surprised to see how fast these four year olds pick up candies from the playground. I wish they can pick up their toys at home like that when it is time to clean up. Wishful thinking..........
This is the second year we went to Bridges on Halloween night. It was less crowded than last year. They provided food, lots activities for toddlers and older kids. and good magic shows. The kids had so much fun there.
This Serena's first preschool Halloween Party. She has been looking forward to this party because she has always seen her sister do this and do that, and finally she has her own halloween party.
Ms. Grace teaches lots songs and phonics that are tought at Challenger. I am so glad that she is teaching at this community center.
I went to San Ramon with a friend who recently purchase a million dollar home in San Ramon. There are lots newhomes on hillsides. They are nice but the commute and grocery shopping can be little tough. I don't think it is wise for us to move there at this moment.
