Spring Program 6th Grade MayPole Dance
好久沒有上Baby Home 寫日記了。 今天帶三個小朋友去採櫻桃。 本以爲這個星期去人不會太多， 結果還是人山人海。 今年去的是 Nunn U PIck Cherry. 那裡的櫻桃好甜，可惜他們沒有黃櫻桃，不然就太完美了。

Winchester Mystery House
今天到 Point Reyes Lighthouse 走走. 风景很美. 这个时候去. 可以看到很多漂亮的野花. 运气好的听说还可以看到鲸鱼. 今天来没有看到.
去听 Vivian Wang 的 Piano Graduation Recital. 她是 Ms. Inna 女儿的学生. 十分优秀. 也是未来的音乐家. 因为优秀, 上纽约大学音乐系都有 Scholarship. 我们家这两只都不愿好好练琴, 只能叹气而已. 虽不指望她们成为音乐家, 但是很希望她们能够喜欢音乐,弹一些动听的曲子陪养爱好和耐心. 无耐带她们来听音乐会, 她们都显的没兴趣. 哎! 这就是所谓的对牛弹琴的情景吧.
带四个孩子- Sebastian, Patricia, Serena & Catherine 看电影去. 觉得还不错.
4th graders went to Oakland Museum of California. Mom did not chaperon this time, so Serena went with Satvika's mom. She didn't let her group go to the gift shop, so Serena was a little upset about not able to spend the money she prepared for the gift shop. To mom, that is wonderful because kids do not need to buy souvenir on every trip.
Catherine woke up in the middle of the night with fever and stomachache, so she couldn't make it to the Honor Recital. 好可惜! 所以这次只有 Serena 参加. 没弹错, 可是可能因为紧张弹的稍微太快了些.
Creative Creatures 3pm
All items at the Silent Auction had multiple offers and a winner. It helped Hirsch generated $1,152. Although it would be much less than if we had Bulldog Jog, it is considered pretty good for Silent Auction. Mom was helping with PTA Silent Auction, so Daddy visited the girls' classroom. Catherine has been studied about Florence Nightingale, so she dressed up as a nurse to answer visitors' questions about Nightingale.
不错, 不错. 明年继续努力.
A very memorable recital that was on Catherine's birthday. It was pouring when we got there. Hope the rain will help a little to the drought. The girls were not at their best today. Serena was playing too rush and Catherine didn't play Puck well. However, I am really grateful for the opportunity to perform on stage. This year, they get to perform on stage four time between February and April, and hope that will help them feel more comfortable and less nervous on stage.
5th Grade's field trip to Hopkin Planetarium. Mrs. Nesbitt was absent, so we had Mrs. Paner as substitute. It was my first time visiting Hopkin and its planetarium. It is very educational. I had Jeffery, Vignesh, Brandon, Caroline, and Catherine in my car. It was fun to hear their conversion and argument in the car. Although they all seem to feel Vignesh is annoying, I thought he is funny. Caroline prepared birthday gift for Catherine today. That is very sweet of her. We are not having birthday party for Catherine this year....It ready made Catherine's day. It is nice to see these two tough, strong-will, and disagreeable girls can get along and been good friends. hahaha......
今天交 Mission project 了. 爸爸花了很多时间帮 Serena 锯木板. 看起来很棒吧!
4th Grade's field strip to Mission San Jose. We had the same docent. I had Lisa, Delilah, Rohan, Alex, and Serena in my car. I was a little upset when later found out one of the window shade in my car was damaged by one of the boys. Although I did ask them not to play with it, it was already too late I guess. Their hands are just too quick to touch anything catches their eyes.
Ms. Inna called tonight to tell us that Serena was really well on her CM performance evaluation. She got excellent on all three and 5+ on one of them. She was selected for Honor Recital in April and Convention in June. I will attend the Honor Recital for sure, but have to see if the date for the convention will conflict with our summer travel. Wish we can make it to both events. So happy for Serena! Ms. Inna told Serena that she can skip level 4 and take level 5 exam next year. Great job, Serena!
Today is the piano evaluation. Catherine's exam location was in Castro Valley and Serena's exam location was in Newark Ms. Inna's daughter's piano studio. Since they both have the exam on the same date and almost same time, mom drove Catherine to Castro Valley and dad took Serena to Newark. The parents were not allowed to go in, but I was able to hear from the outside of the house. Catherine did well except Puck needs more dynamics. Glad CM exam is over now, the girls can move on playing different pieces.
Took the girls to Chabot College for the theory exam. Patricia was taking level 6, Catherine level 5, and Serena level 3. The exam seem pretty easy to them. They all finished fairly quick. There are lots of students taking CM exam.
So happy that Kanaka is stepping in to chair the AR store. The only thing I am worry is her daughter may not stay at Hirsch next year, so that means we will look for a new person in charge of AR store if Mrs. Evans decided to continue AR program. LeAnne mentioned about Mrs. Evans may only keep Lexia instead of using both Lexia and AR. It was nice to see the kids' happy face when redeeming their points for prizes. We have Lisa, Julie, Suzy in the early shift and Kanaka, Anila, Swati and Cindy in the later shift. Jennifer stopped by a little to see and try. Hope I can get her into volunteering at Hirsch.
Cindy, Anila, Danling, Angie, and Suzy were there to help. So glad and lucky to have these supporting parents. The kids were having fun helping setting up the store and previewing what are available in the store.
Evaluation Recital
Today, we went to Muir Woods National Monument. The trails are all very shady because of the tall redwood trees in the park. Parking is very limited, so we had to park on the road shoulder and walk a small distance to the entrance. Didn't go to any beach near the park. Maybe when the weather gets warmer, we should go again and visit Stinson and Muir Woods beach.
Serena's "Mystic Mountain" get to enter district's 2014 Young Author's Contest. Great job, Serena.
There were 54 contestants this year at district's Spelling Bee Contest. (2 students from each elementary school.) Irene and Catherine represented Hirsch Elementary School. Unfortunately, Irene was eliminated on the 2nd round and Catherine was eliminated on the 3rd round. Both girls didn't make it to county's spelling bee. It was great experience watching the spelling contest. Never been to one before, so very glad our whole family went to see it. Wish Catherine and Serena or at least one of them will have the opportunity next year to enter the contest.

Young Author Story Due
Haven't been to Color Me Mine for a long time. Thanks to Auntie Katy's gift card to the girls. The girls picked the mug they like and started working on coloring. Serena just got her mp3 and really enjoys it.
今天带她们去看 Cloudy with Chance of Meatball 2. 因为这部在一线的电影院早就下片, 所以跑到 Cupertino 的 Bluelight Cinemas 5 去看. 三个人才$15.
