主啊！請您塑造我兒子，使他堅強，堅強得能夠認知自己的軟弱；使他勇敢，勇敢得能夠面對自己畏懼的時候；在真實的失敗中，讓他能夠自豪而不屈服，在真正獲得勝利之際，依然謙遜而和柔。 Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory. 懇求您塑造我兒子，讓他不要以蹈空的幻想代替務實的位置；引導他認識主，並且曉得自我認知才是知識的基石。 Build me a son whose wishes will not take the place of deeds; a son who will know Thee…and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. 祈求您，引導他不去尋找安逸舒適的捷徑，要在艱難與挑戰中接受磨鍊與策勵。藉此學習在暴風雨中挺立，面對失敗者能懷抱同情的心境。 Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge.
