camp 第二天

2013年08月06日
Dear Parents,

It was a cloudy hot day at Camp Taiwan today as campers had an excitement-filled day of activities. Tuesdays are the day where youth campers spend every period on their core activity rotation. Mini campers and teens were very busy today as well. We got everyone started with a big breakfast so they could have enough energy throughout the day. Counselors also made sure their campers had enough sunscreen on, hats and full water bottles. Once everyone was ready, we started our day. This is how the teams rotated through the activities:

Yellow Team: Archery, Climbing, Ecology, Crafts
Pink Team: Climbing, Ecology, Crafts, Cooperative Games
Blue Team: Ecology, Crafts, Cooperative Games, Giant Swing
Brown Team: Crafts, Cooperative Games, Giant Swing, River Tracing
Light Blue Team: Cooperative Games, Giant Swing, River Tracing, Archery
Orange Team: Giant Swing, River Tracing, Archery, Climbing
Red Team: River Tracing, Archery, Climbing, Ecology

The mini campers this morning did rock climbing and spent some playing sports. They also had a rotation of inside games in our dining room. In the afternoon it was time for archery and pond play as they got a chance to soak their counselors a little bit.

The teens spent their morning rotating through farming in our organic farm and learning how to do some camp cooking. In the afternoon it was more outdoor living as the teens learned to make fires and shelter out in the wild (by their tents).

Right now all the campers are playing wide games around camp. After it will be time to get ready for bed as we have another big day in store for them tomorrow.

The pictures will be uploaded a little later tonight. Check back at around 9 or 9:30 for today’s photos.

Good night from Camp Taiwan,
Mike

Please note, we try to get as many pictures on the blog as we can. Our counselors work very hard to make sure campers are safe and having fun. They take lots of photos as well, but that is not their primary responsibility, of course. At the end of the camp we will pass on all of our photos and videos.
