Tomato face! (Tara and Anna) (1) (M)

2012年12月08日
A ray of sunshine shone through a gap in the sky-blue curtains. Tara turned her back on the window and yawned. It was the holidays and she was not going forget THAT easily! Her gold-medal-like(it was meant to look like a gold medal)alarm clock vibrated and the sound of people cheering burst out. Tara groaned as she waved her hand about, trying to get her clock. Lazily, she gave up and pulled the duvet over her head.

Her mum, who had suspected that Tara was still in her morning daze, left the breakfast to cool as she walked upstairs to wake Tara up. Tara could never get up in the mornings when it was the holidays and her mum would have to help.

Tara heard muffled footsteps combined with quiet cheering. Knowing this meant 'get up' time, she threw the duvet off her body and sat up. Looking up, she found her mum giving her 'the look'. Tara sighed and made her bed without complaining. She was already feeling 100 times livelier so she tore her sister, Anna's, fairy brush through her own wavy, chocolate, brown hair and pulled it back into a messy ponytail. Tara's hair was pretty in color but hard to tie.

In the blink of an eye, the alarm clock stopped cheering, mum had disappeared, dad had gone to work and Tara was all dressed! She zoomed down the stairs and hurried to the big living room that always smelt of roses.

Anna was in her usual place in front of the TV, on the floor and had a half-eaten bowl of cereal on her lap. "Morning!" cheered Tara as she joined Anna with a plate of eggs and bacon. Anna mumbled something, but Tara couldn't hear what it was because Anna had her spoon in her mouth.

"I can't believe you didn't have eggs and bacon today! We only get it in the holidays!" Tara exclaimed through a mouthful of bacon. Anna shrugged off the comment and pointed to the table, chewing and swallowing frantically. "Mummy said that you can chose orange juice or hot chocolate. That fairy mug is my hot choc." the TV addict, Anna explained, tearing her eyes off her favorite cartoon, 'The M&Ms'. "Great!" Tara replied, glancing at the table. She guessed her mum was upstairs, enjoying not having to take them to school. She finished her plate of scrumptious breakfast and washed it down with juice.

That afternoon, the sun was out so Mrs Bailey, their mum, decided to take them to Mushroom Village. It was a great and exciting play area. That week, since Mushroom Village was seasonal, was the week in each season that you could go in for free!

Everyday in the mornings, even if there was school, Tara would go for a run in the meadow nearby. Wearing her white flowy dress, which she always wore for the run(or her blue dress)because it made her feel like a dainty little fairy, she pulled on her ballet pumps and opened the door. 'I would never miss my morning meadow runs for anything.' she thought as she stepped outside.

When she got back home, she changed into some jeans and a sleeveless blue top. Now, she was all set for the Mushroom Village play!

When they got to Mushroom Village, a lady stood outside for the check in. She had a badge pinned to her jacket that read her name. Tara caught sight of her and squinted, trying to make out the lady's name. Finally, they were at the front in the queue. It was much easier to read now, Velma Evans. "Can I take your names?" Velma asked, politely nudging Tara to get her attention. Tara flushed, "Huh? Oh..Tara Bailey." she replied, her voice coming out quietly. Anna smiled one of her award-winning smiles and answered loudly, clearly and confidently "I'm Anna Bailey." . They were each given a blue sticker and told when the blue stickers had to go.

The hour whizzed past quite quickly and Tara and Anna had only even explored 3/16 of the massive play area. They half-walked, half-stumbled over to Mrs Bailey. They were sweating and though they were red-faced and panting, they had smiles on their faces. The two of them had what seemed like tomato faces!
Next stop, home!
