Dear Parents,

Beautiful blue skies greeted our new mini campers today as session six rolled on. We had new a influx of green and purple campers who arrived around 9 a.m. They checked into their rooms and got unpacked before playing some ice breaking warmup games with their counselors. While the minis were getting acclimated to their new environs, the youth and teen campers were already started on another action-packed day at camp.

With the core activities finished, campers began their sign up free choice activities this morning. We had one group of youth campers who went ocean kayaking the first two activity periods, and it was a great day for it. Counselors made sure everyone had plenty of water and sunscreen before heading out. Other campers made their way through their choice of activities from archery, climbing, crafts, basketball, bug hunting, zip line and more. In the afternoon we offered even more activities from which they could choose: soccer, Frisbee golf, jump roping, shrimping and bug art. It was then time for them to come together for another Taiwanji camp-wide game.

Teen campers spent their morning on a two-activity rotation of giant swing and archery. These are two of the most well-liked activities at camp. After lunch all of the teens headed to the beach for ocean kayaking.

Campers are just now finishing up their dinner and will soon be writing in their journals. Once their journals are complete, it will be party time as the dancing, games, and shaved ice will be underway. This is always a very tiring day and I know campers (and counselors) will appreciate a good night’s sleep tonight.

The pictures will be uploaded a little later tonight. Check back at around 9 or 9:30 for today’s photos.

Good night from Camp Taiwan,
Mike

Please note, we try to get as many pictures on the blog as we can. Our counselors work very hard to make sure campers are safe and having fun. They take lots of photos as well, but that is not their primary responsibility, of course. At the end of the camp we will pass on all of our photos and videos.
